Ball State saw its dream of an undefeated season ended last night when the Turner Gill-coached Univ. of Buffalo Bulls beat David Letterman's alma mater 42-24. So much for the battle of unbeatens between Ball State and Boise State.
As you may know, today is a big day in college football. BC meets Virginia Tech in Tampa for the ACC Championship at 1:00 pm. With a win over Missouri in the Big 12 Championship game in Kansas City tonight, Oklahoma will advance to the BCS championship game. In other games, a USC win over UCLA (playing at the Rose Bowl) this afternoon puts them in the Rose Bowl against Penn State, and Pitt meets UConn (both teams are headed to minor bowls.) The United States Military Academy, located in beautiful West Point, NY (Army) meets the United States Naval Academy, located in beautiful Annapolis, Maryland (Navy) in Philadelphia, PA at noon today.
The SEC Championship game is today at 4. The #1 ranked Crimson Tide of Alabama face the #4 ranked Fighting Florida Gators. Injuries are an issue for the Gators, especially with star all purpose player Percy Harvin a game time decision. It should be a great game.
Go Gators!! This is an Open Thread.

It's that time of year again, where we really would like TalkLeft readers to take the 2008 annual Blog Reader Project Survey. The survey helps journalists, blogger, and advertisers better understand the demographics related to blogs. Please use this link to take the survey. While we won't get access to your results, the demographic information gleaned from TL readers will help us with advertisers.
Even if you've taken the 2008 survey on another site, please click through to add your results to our totals; you WON'T have to take it again.
Also, if you get tired of the survey before finishing, you can quit and the answers to the questions you submitted will still count. Thanks, everyone.

Your daily Percy Harvin report:
[Florida] Receiver Percy Harvin, meanwhile, missed practice Tuesday but [Florida coach Urban] Meyer said he was "getting better and better." Harvin sprained his right ankle against the Seminoles and is considered questionable against the Crimson Tide.
Since I only have the New Deal and Percy Harvin on the brain, here is an Open Thread for your commenting pleasure.

I'm still at work, but here's the latest news:
- Sen. Dick Durbin goes to bat for former Ill. Gov. George Ryan, asking President Bush to pardon Ryan. I hope Bush listens. His efforts towards a moratorium on the death penalty and his emptying the state's death row due to the large number of wrongfully convicted inmates warrant a pardon.
- PA Gov. Ed Rendell has dropped the moratorium on parole for violent felons. The ban was imposed in September.
[A] review found the state's evaluation and supervision of parolees were largely effective.
- An autopsy confirms the WalMart worker who died on Black Friday was trampled to death.
- Giants receiver Plaxico Burress appeared in state court on charges of criminal possession of a handgun. Bail in $100k. He has a top notch lawyer, Ben Brafman, who has also represented Sean Combs, among others. Facts below:

I'm shopped out, but in case you are still going, CyberMonday starts today. Prices will fluctuate throughout the day at most sites, but here's a few that will stay the same until Dec. 7:
- As far as I'm concerned, you can never have too many of these Western Digital My Passport 320 GB USB hard drives. At $90 instead of the usual $170, it's too good to pass up. Shipping is only $2.95 and there's no sales tax.
- If you've been wanting a big screen monitor for your computer, here's a steal: Samsung 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor for $189 with free shipping. List price is $380.
- How about a Panisonic 32" LCD HD TV that for $499? It's a 720 as opposed to 1080p (and I don't buy their "retail price" of $2500., but 720 probably all you need in a 32".
If you found any great deals, let us know (not the link, unless you can put it in html format, but the store and the item.)
