What are the big games today? An unemotional review would say that there are no big games at all. No big matchups against top teams. But we would not be college football fans if we were unemotional. So, in fact, there are a whole bunch of big games.
In South Bend today, Charlie Weis may be coaching for his job (in that his fate at the end of the season would be sealed) as Michigan State comes to town. Fun fact - the Spartans have won 6 straight in South Bend. The Irish are 10 point favorites. I like the Spartans with the points and I think they win outright.
Iowa plays Arizona today in a game that will determine if Iowa can continue its drive to be considered an elite team, when it hosts Arizona. I think Iowa wins and covers the 4 point spread. More . . .

Susan Boyle is on America's Got Talent doing a killer version of the Rolling Stones' Wild Horses. I'll add the video when it's up.
The winner to be announced in a few minutes will be either Barbara Padilla or Kevin Skinner. This is an easy one, it will be Barbara Padilla Kevin Skinner. (I definitely got that one wrong.)

I've missed a lot of news yesterday and today while trying to meet a deadline for filing briefs. Now I'm off to the jail to share them with my clients. Here's what I would have blogged about if I had been online:
- House Introduces Legislation to Repeal DOMA . Colorado Congresswoman Diana DeGette released this statement.

The Big Brother 11 live finale is tonight. Go, Jordan (please, no spoilers for those of us not on the East Coast.) Is anyone going to watch Jay Leno instead? And the new season of The Biggest Loser is beginning.
Polls are closing in Manhattan where the winner of the District Attorney's race will be determined. Go, Richard! (Please let us know in comments who won when you find out.)
I've been writing briefs all day that I have to get in by midnight. So, you are on your own, this is an open thread, all topics welcome.

Fun fact of the day - Florida opened as a 28.5 point favorite over Tennessee for the Saturday game at The Swamp.
Second fun fact of the day - even Ezra Klein says "[a] solid 55 percent of the country supports 'having the government create a new health insurance plan to compete with private health insurance plans.' That supports jumps to 76 percent if the option is reserved for those unable to get health insurance now." (Emphasis supplied.) Can the Village (with an assist from the "progressive" blogosphere) really stymie 76% of Americans? Time will tell.

Jeralyn usually does some video-themed open threads at night. But I noticed Big Brother was on, so maybe that has captured her attention. I'm watching the women's final of the US Open, while peeking in on the Bears-Packers.
