Some good games this Sunday. The best one is Minnesota at Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is a 6 point favorite. I like the Brett Favres (+6).
The Bears play at Cincinnati. A pick 'em game. I like Chicago (pick).
The Falcons travel to Jerry World. I like Atlanta (+4.5).
The Giant host Arizona. I love New York (-7). More . . .

Early with this today as I have to go out. Today is the 4th Saturday in October. Apparently in the SEC, math is not a strong suit, as the Alabama-Tennessee game is today, instead of the traditional 3rd Saturday in October. Alabama is probably the best team in the country. Bama's RB Mark Ingram is clearly the best player in the country. Tennessee has a good defense. Vols QB Crompton played great against Georgia (most QBs have). The game is in Tuscaloosa. Bama is a two touchdown fav. I like the VOLS (+14) to keep it close.
LSU hosts Auburn, which is reeling after a strong start to the season. Strangely, this is not the ESPN SEC game tonight (Florida- Miss State is). I think AUBURN (+7.5) bounces back tonight and wins outright. More . . .

This Greenberg poll of Hondurans is pretty funny to me:
Nearly four months after Honduran President Mel Zelaya was forced from office, he retains considerable public support, according to a new survey by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner. [. . .] Two-thirds approve of Zelaya’s performance as president. Nineteen percent rated his performance as “excellent” and another 48 percent as “good.”
(Emphasis supplied.) Zelaya has not been acting as President for the past 4 months and his performance ratings are high. Ironic. He clearly is a beneficiary of revulsion at the coup. Yet, Hondurans also want the scheduled November elections to go forward (Zelaya is opposed to them.) And get this finding - "The survey also found that [. . .] 83 percent have a negative impression of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez."
Zelaya is popular, but can not run. The election he opposes is popular. And one of his main international supporters, Hugo Chavez, is loathed. A positive endgame for Zelaya is not clear to me here. There will be an election and then it will be over.

It's still snowing here. The TL kid is coming for dinner -- my special green chile, warm tortillas and salad. It's also the worst TV night of the week, not one of the shows I watch is on.
What's on your mind tonight? This is an open thread, all topics welcome.

I'm watching Dancing With the Stars. I like Kelly Osborne and Louie the snowboarder, and who knows why, Donnie Osmond. Len took his happy pills tonight, he's liked every dance.
A commercial came on a few minutes ago warning seniors that the health care bill would cut $100 billion in benefits from Medicare Advantage and, according to the Congressional Budget Office, many seniors would see 50% cuts in "extra benefits." Then it said "Colorado is hit hard." All the while, the faces of seniors flashed across the screen. At the end: "Paid for by America's Health Insurance Plans." Who are they?
What's on your agenda tonight? This is an open thread, all topics welcome.

After a week in paradise, re-learning how to be still, I'm home.
First, a huge thanks to Big Tent Democrat for his blogging this week. Not only did I not blog, I didn't read the news, see a TV set, check voicemail, text or pick up a phone. [More..]
