Bulls-Celtics Game 6 tonight at 7. Must see TV.
One other thing, Matt Yglesias calls Cass Sunstein a "progressive lawyer," proving yet again, that when it comes to the law, Yglesias is utterly clueless.

My assignment file is full, both in terms of my professional work and my blogging avocation.
I am currently working on the following topics bloggingwise - completing my series of posts on the torture issue, spurred by my public and private exchanges with Stuart Taylor, Jr. In addition, informed in a tangential way by the newly nascent secessionist movement, I am preparing a post (now weeks overdue) on the preemption doctrine. I hope to complete all of these posts by next Wednesday.
I'll also borrow an Ezra Klein device of asking if there are any other subjects you think I should cover (remember I don't do criminal law, that is J and TChris' bailiwick, other than torture and civil liberties issues.).

It's DWTS and "24" tonight for me. What are you watching? And if you're not watching anything, what else are you doing, reading of interest or thinking about?
Update: More injuries on DWTS. Melissa isn't there due to complications from rib injuries and Gilles has an injured collarbone requiring cortisone shots.

I have had an extensive exchange of communications with Stuart Taylor about my post yesterday. Taylor makes some good points about my characterization (to be clear, the views expressed in that post are solely my responsibility and in no way reflect on any other writers at this site) of his views and they deserve a fair response. For the moment, I want to apologize to him for calling him a liar in that post - it is clear he believes what he wrote and my charge of mendacity was unfair and uncalled for. He also brought forth some information that I need to respond to. My general views on the subject have not changed. But, in fairness to Taylor, I need to address his points in a more civil and comprehensive fashion. I will do so by no later than tomorrow.

It's snowing here again and will be throughout tomorrow. At least I got in a 45 minute walk early this morning when the temperature was still in the 50's.
I see that torture and the swine flue have been the primary topics this weekend. We have a petition ad on the right that I hope you will all sign on to.
Other than that, I'm hoping to work from home due to the weather tomrrow...so glad I didn't put off seeing my jail clients on Friday.
What other news, political or personal has moved you this weekend? If there is any, here's a place to talk about it.

If you haven't been watching the Bulls-Celtics game, you have been missing a classic. Now going into double OT.
The Bulls pull it out. Ben Gordon is a modern day Boston Strangler.

Update (TL): I'm watching The Wrestler. Have any of you seen it? It's out on DVD and On Demand.
Update (TChris): If you share TalkLeft's distaste for Sheriff Joe Arpaio, you'll want to watch Stephen Colbert's masterful interview of "America's Toughest Sheriff."

The NFL Draft is today. The Detroit Lions, who have the first overall pick, have already reached a agreement with Matthew Stafford, the Georgia quarterback. Good luck with that Lions. I have my doubts about Stafford. The selection process begins at 4 pm this year.

I missed the whole day's news due to work, but I'm going to catch up as I watch TV: there's a new episode of Gray's Anatomy, and Southland, the new, depressing LA cop show, is more watchable than Crash.
Think good thoughts for Jay Leno who is in the hospital with an undisclosed but reportedly minor illness. He's expected back next week.
