Newsweek: Bush Approval Sinks to 28%

Newsweek's latest poll shows Bush's approval rating at 28%, his lowest level ever. And, he's bringing the Republican contenders for 2008 down with him.

This remarkably low rating seems to be casting a dark shadow over the GOP’s chances for victory in ’08. The NEWSWEEK Poll finds each of the leading Democratic contenders beating the Republican frontrunners in head-to-head matchups.

RCP is the best source for poll data (none / 0) (#1)

While it would be great if a single poll meant anything I've learned that RCP is the best source to see what's up.

Watch the trends of the average of several polls and you get a real good idea of what's going on.

RCP was dead on on the Bush re-election, the democratic take over etc...

if he were a baseball player, with that kind of average, he'd be making several million dollars.

oh, wait, he isn't a baseball player, he's the "leader" of the free world!

    never mind!!!!!!!!!!

Is This What A Political Comeback Looks Like? (none / 0) (#4)

How about that Bush political comeback predicted by David Broder?  However, I am a little confused.  I thought when a politician comes back politically that there is an increase in support not a continuing decline.

Maybe "broder bounce" should join the "friedman" as a unit of measurement derived from the lexicon of punditry?

    From todays news...

In Kansas, the governor said the state's response was limited by the shifting of emergency equipment, such as tents, trucks and semitrailers, to the war in Iraq .

"Not having the National Guard equipment, which used to be positioned in various parts of the state, to bring in immediately is really going to handicap this effort to rebuild," she said.

Sharon Watson, a spokeswoman for the adjutant general's office, which manages state resources during emergencies, said the state has a shortage of heavy equipment transport trailers, pallet-sized loading systems, Humvees, dump trucks and other large equipment that would be help move massive amount of debris.

"We are never at 100 percent because we are allocated a certain amount from the National Guard Bureau. With the war, we are much shorter than we would be. We have about 40 percent of what is allocated," Watson said.

More proof that the scam in Iraq is making us less safe, not more.

Who are these 28 percent, and how can they be THAT delusional???????

And it was back on January 08 that Bush's approval rate on Iraq was at 26%.

So... 28% must mean that the DLC has managed to "peel off" some republicans to oppose Bush?

Or do I have that backwards?

Maybe Nancy should keep "negotiating" with Bush while she continues to fund his debacle? ;-)

Breaking news a new poll shows Bush ratings at 95% positive job approval rating among  members of al-Qaida.
Ayman al-Zawahiri, al-Qaeda's no. 2 leader complained in a videotape released Saturday about the Democrats' plan to withdraw US troops from Iraq. Al-Zawahiri said he preferred that the US remain so that Muslim guerrillas could bleed the US military. Where have I heard that sort of reasoning before? Aha! It is a fly trap strategy!
