New Admissions

by TChris

The commander of the Army Corps of Engineers acknowledged today that the Corps followed its usual procedures when it prepositioned resources in the New Orleans area before Hurricane Katrina, knowing that those procedures would be inadequate to protect against a category 4 or 5 storm. Lt. Gen. Carl Strock admitted that the Corps should have prepositioned more helicopters and sandbags.

As his poll numbers continue to plummet, President Bush will acknowledge today that poverty and inequality are long-standing problems in the country he governs. Unfortunately, he isn't likely to admit that he exacerbated the problem by insisting on tax cuts that disproportionately benefit the wealthiest members of society.

Just five years ago, NO was nearly free of poverty. In fact, just about 5% or 10% of their population was poor. Suddenly, everything got worse when Bush became president. Nearly overnight, poverty skyrocketed. He's clearly to blame for almost all of NO's poverty. [/sarcasm]

Hey wingnuts...just google "bush poverty rate" and here's what you will find.
The nation’s poverty rate rose to 12.7 percent of the population last year, the fourth consecutive annual increase, the Census Bureau said Tuesday.
The rate last fell in 2000...the year before Mr. Trickle Down took over.

Give me a break. NO has been packed with black welfare check cashers long before Bush came about. As for the rise in poverty, Black women have an average four kids; those four kids eventually become as worthless as their mother and find it easier to draw a welfare check then to work. Just after the flood when the looting started, it was natural instict for the blacks to take something that they did not earn. Come on, what the hell do you need a plasma screen tv for if you don't have electricity or even a house?

Looting you say? You ain't seen nuthin yet. Wait 'til the treasury gets looted by Bush's buddies in the rebuilding. It will make Iraq seem like petty larceny. But I guess we earned this outcome, eh?

nunya-And how did you earn the right to judge so harshly? Were you beaten as a child? Unhappy marriage? I guess you have someone to blame for your misfortune. Must be the trickle up syndrome.

I agree with nunya, jaheesus sent the hurricane just to tempt those folks whose natural instinct and subhuman greed are causing them to loot the city.
