Your turn again. But I have bashed enough bloggers today for all of us. Let's leave that out of this Open Thread. Anything but that. Deal? If not, your comments might be deleted.
Have a good evening. Hasta luego, as we pesky Latinos say.

Speaking for me only.
I tell you, today is quite a day in the blogs. Look at what Chris Bowers writes today:
Clinton's primary coalition thus far has been largely kept afloat by older Reagan Dems who also tend to be white southern Baptists. And yes, they also tend to be older, as exit polls have shown. . . . I don't care if Democrats never make up any ground among Reagan Democrats ever, as long as we lock up the support of expanding groups like the creative class, white non-Christians, Latinos and Asians for a generation. . . . While Clinton's advantage among Latinos and Asians does not make it a perfect match, Obama's primary coalition is far closer to the coalition we need for an expanding future of the Democratic Party, while Clinton's primary is a lot more like the coalition we have been chasing after for the past twenty-five years or so. . . .
Yep. Except for those pesky Latinos and, of course those older women, and white working class men - I hate the Clinton coalition and I love the way Obama does not make appeals to Reagan Democrats. Why yes, that is what I really love about Obama - the way he is sharply partisan against the Republicans and has not run one of those Unity Schtick campaigns to appeal to Reagan Democrats. Heck never would Obama even say a word of praise of Reagan EVER. And Republicans? No where to be seen in that Obama coalition. Nosirree.

Because the continuing pattern of railing against everything Clinton and defending, excusing and praising everything Obama has been prevalent in the Media and the blogs, I think the point has been reached, as it was during the 90s with rabid Republicans, that most people simply do not pay attention to these shrieks from the usual suspects. Their outrage at everything Clinton and their effusive praise or defense of everything Obama is of course the subject of SNL parody, but consider this wild post by Spencer Ackermann that seems beyond parody:

I've got court this morning so it's up to you to keep each other informed. What's of interest in the news and what's on your mind today?
I'll be back late this afternoon.

Speaking for me only.
If there is one thing that has truly has bothered me about the reactions of some of the Left blogs is the blatant hypocrisy they have displayed. The outrage they have voiced on behalf of every perceived slight of Barack Obama and his campaign has been just plain laughable while they have excused every smear, sexist or otherwise against Hillary Clinton.

The comments are getting really off-topic to our posts. We can only accommodate 200 or so comments per thread because of our fixed width (which I happen to like and am not changing) so in order for everyone to get a say on the topic of the post, off-topic comments are deleted. If you want to pick the topic, please do it in an open thread.

Markos is riled up about Bruce Reed of the DLC working with Clinton on debate prep (not a policy position actually.) Funny how he missed this:[DLC Chairman Al] From said Mr. Obama had an intellectual, and not just tactical, connection to the D.L.C.
“I mean his chief economist, Austan Goolsbee, is a fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute, which is our think tank,” he said.
Economic advisor vs debate prep? Which matters more? For the record, having the DLC in the Big Democratic Tent is fine by me. I certainly would not want either candidate to cast out the DLC. I actually worry more about the DLC's Third Way Unity Schtick political advice. As From says, there is a very close political tactics connection between Obama and the DLC. It is what I complain about constantly. Some others used to complain about too. Not anymore apparently.

Your second turn. Go Gators! This is an Open Thread.

The comments to our threads are filling up pretty quickly, even with the "stay on topic" rules. That's a good thing.
If the comments stay as full, I may be taking requests for volunteer comment moderators.
Since I'll be out for a few hours, here's a place for you to decide the topics and keep the conversation going.

The campaigns and candidates themselves may not get nasty, but I get the sense that supporters of the various candidates are getting angrier at the other camp. Sure a lot of this is just relatively harmless virtual world internet flaming, but it has real world manifestations too. This has sort of taken me by surprise too. I'm reminded of the old saying that the smaller the stakes, the more vicious the battle. Obama and Clinton are obviously different in some important ways, but overall there just aren't any huge gaps between them, either in ideology or governing theory. . . . I confess that I have a hard time understanding the level of vitriol that the race has produced among supporters on both sides. . . .
Yep. On the flip, I will show you what I mean.

Via Blogometer, Mike Lux writes:
[W]e've reached that juncture where it seems better for us to turn our attention to defining McCain rather than carving up each other."
Due respect to Mike, what is stopping you? Unless the us is the candidates, I see no reason why any person, Media organ or blogger who wants to turn their attention to McCain can not do so. What's stopping them?
NBC and bloggers, from list A to Z, are all proclaiming Hillary can not win. Then do not sweat the contest. What's the worry? That Hillary is going to question Obama's experience? Oooooh. And gawd knows John McCain won't right? Morever, are you sure the Media will defend Obama as they do now when Hillary is not his opponent?
A lot of folks are going to be in for a rude awakening if/when Obama gets the nomination and they discover their new BFFs in the Media are not so nice when a Clinton is not the opponent.
