It's still snowing here and will be until morning.
BTD was busy at work today so we've had no posts on the economy. Is there any news?
I'll be watching American Idol and Grey's Anatomy, here's an open thread for you, all topics welcome.

The winds have kicked in something fierce. I can barely make out the houses across the street. All I see is white blowing snow.
So far 200 flights have been canceled and most highways have shut down. The local news is telling people to stay off the roads and asking employers to send people home.
The snow and gusty winds will create whiteout conditions that will make driving anywhere extremely treacherous or even impossible. Travel on the roads are HIGHLY DISCOURAGED between noon and 9 p.m. today. Expect hazardous driving conditions all over the state but particularly on the Eastern Plains and along Interstate 25.
The Denver Post is now predicting 19 inches of snow for Denver. It won't be over until tomorrow. I hope the heat, cable and internet hold out.

The river in Fargo, N.D. continues to rise, threatening a first-ever evacuation of the town.
“I don’t care how old you are,” Mr. Walaker said. “You haven’t seen this in the valley.”....In this city of 90,000, the state’s most populous, political leaders, who met in an emergency session late Wednesday afternoon, said they expected to announce an evacuation plan on Thursday. The mayor said an evacuation had never been tried in Fargo, even after a major tornado more than half a century ago.
Colorado now has blizzard warnings for much of the state (and Denver.) It's 7:00 a.m. in Denver, and the snow here has just started to fall. Right now, there's less than an inch on the ground outside my house. But the news sounds dire, Denver could get up to 19 inches.
I'm taking a snow day and going to work from home. How's the weather where you are?[Hat tip to Skippy who made the picture for us during a prior year's blizzard.]

Big Tent Democrat is traveling (maybe he'll post from the air if he's on a flight with wi-fi access like the other day) and I'm just getting online.
If the new ad on the right for cloned cows has you scratching your head, I'm told it's timely for April Fools.

On the story of the day, Obama's plan to rescue the Masters of the Universe, I've said all I can say for weeks now.

Denver's 75 degree weather the past few days is coming to an end. Snow is forecast for tomorrow. I just turned off the air-conditioning.
After a day spent shopping for a new bicycle, I picked an Electra Townie with "flat foot technology," perfect for people who haven't been on a bike in years and want to be able to place their feet on the ground while stopped but also have their legs fully extended when pedaling.
Next project: Mattresses: Is latex really better and worth the extra money? Now I have to watch Brothers and Sisters ... Tommy's on the lam in Mexico.

BTD - Read this from Glenn Greenwald on the value of public anger. An excellent piece.

I'm busy at work today, as is BTD. But here are some random thoughts. Feel free to add your own:
Things that make me feel old:
Things that make me annoyed:
- The number of emails I get that from people and organizations promoting their online content that have no relevance to issues covered by TalkLeft.
- Unsolicited faxes where you have to call the 800 number to be removed
- People who twitter boring stuff or news everyone already knows with no added original content

Today is the beginning of the great distraction known as March Madness. I am tied up today (and not watching March Madness) so posting will be light from me. J, TChris and Ethan will no doubt hold down the fort.
