Who's going home on American Idol? I'll guess Didi or Tim. So long as it's not Crystal, Casey or Lee, I'm okay with it. I'd like to see Andrew Garcia stay a little longer too. (No spoilers please.)
L.L. Cool J isn't the only one complaining about Fox's use of canned interviews for Sarah Palin's special show. Toby Keith isn't happy either. I bet Levi won't pull those kind of stunts on his new reality show, which he describes as Jersey Shore on Ice.

Note to New Progressives ("Obama's announcment begins to give a clear picture of what those concessions will be"), get your stories straight:
[B]y announcing the drilling policy without seeking to extract concessions [. . .]
And I agree that off shore drilling is not like school uniforms. One of these policies actually matters. Guess which one?

Is anyone getting an iPad? I'd love one and put it on my wish list.
I'm sure it's lunchtime somewhere, and since I'm busy at work today, here's an open thread, all topics welcome.

I'm doing too many things at once tonight, trying to blog while watching TV, while cooking dinner. I had a whole post on "60 Minutes" and the Nada Prouty segment, but accidentally closed the window and it's gone. Too bad, because the segment prompted me to access the court documents on PACER which are very interesting. She has no legal remedies so she's trying to make her case in the media, in hopes of getting Congress to somehow restore her citizenship. Her lawyer is also planning to sue some bloggers:
[Attorney] Zaid is preparing to sue bloggers and news media outlets who that persist in calling Prouty a Hizballah spy and is contacting members of Congress and the Obama administration in hopes of restoring her citizenship or permanent resident status.
I'm also trying to follow Pacific and decide whether to give Breaking Bad (on AMC) another chance. It may just be too depressing. I'll probably watch Celebrity Apprentice instead, to see whether Poison's Brett Michaels and Rod Blagojevich survive another week.
What's on your mind tonight? This is an open thread, all topics welcome.

President Obama has made a surprise trip to Afghanistan. I wonder if he'll be back in time for the White House Seder.
The New York Times has an editorial supporting 9th Circuit Appeals Court nominee Goodwin Liu, calling him exceptional.
Some convicted drug defendants in Mass. are likely to get new trials following the state's Supreme Court decision this week retroactively applying the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Commonwealth v. Melendez-Diaz, holding that chemists must appear in person at trial and be subject to cross-examination.

Four of the Elite 8 teams are in action this afternoon and evening, seeking a berth in the Final Four.
In the afternoon game, 2 seed Kansas State is a 4 1/2 point favorite over 5 seed Butler, the conqueror of 1 seed Syracuse. Butler plays good defense and will want to control pace. K-State appears to have better athletes. But K-State also plays great defense. K-State beat a very good Xavier team in 2OT in the Sweet 16, after blowing a big 1st half lead. Both teams seem plenty tough mentally. I like K-State (-4.5).
In the evening game, 1 seed Kentucky boasts the likely top 2 picks in the upcoming NBA draft (John Wall and Demarcus Cousins) and seems the best team in the tournament. But 2 seed West Virginia is physical and tough. Expect a rough game. I like Kentucky (-5) to tough it out in the second half.

It just started snowing again here. I'm making a brisket with mashed potatoes and carrots, steamed asparagus and an arugula salad with cucumbers, strawberries, avocado and mozzarella cheese.
What's on your agenda or mind tonight? Is anyone excited about the new foreclosure program?
