Mike Pence's Coronavirus Task Force Briefing

Tuned in to hear Mike Pence tell us all to pray.

Dr. Deborah Birk: Praise be due the millenials, who have come out for testing.

"We know know" who is most at risk: the elderly. (We knew that many moons ago.)

"We know who is dying": (We've always known that).

"We know" people on respirators will respond well to steroids.

A slide is playing on the right from NBC reminding us there are 125,0000 deaths.

We are most concerned about states with rising test positives and rising numbers of cases. She names them. [More...]

She's pointing out how much worse it was in NY, NY, Detroit, MN in March.

Florida: Miami, Broward and Palm Beach are worst.

She says Texas is the same: In May, after opening, test positivity did not rise. Rise didn't happen until 2 weeks ago (Is she going to blame it on the protests?)

She races through Arizona saying only Phoenix is bad. California: Test positivity has only occurred in last few weeks. LA has the biggest concentration, but farmers in the central valley are also rising.

Individual behavior is most important: Social distancing and masks. Thanks again to the millenials who got tested during the protests.

The under 40 group is most likely to be symptomatic . Thanks millenials a third time.

"to our older population: if you have co-morbidities and are over 80, shelter in place and use your grandchildren to do your grocery shopping.

Birx is done. Faucci is up.

Won't blame those who didn't stay home.

and Trump and Pence don't have to follow any rules because "freedom of speech" and "right to assemble."  Unless you're protesting something, of course, then you get pepper-sprayed.

".....it's going to be down to zero.  Pretty good job we have done."  Donald Trump, four months ago, today (2/26/2020.

Pence says, today, not to worry, everything is going swimmingly. As citizens drown with blood and other fluids in their lungs.  He tells us to pray, but he doesn't tell us to wear masks.

And, it did not have to be this way. Public health measures, and even common sense, was eclipsed by Trump's self-serving Interests.  No national strategy, essentially, no nothing.  Save for lies and dangerous nostrums.  Let's re-open and call it a day.  Trump and his Republicans have allied themselves with the virus.  A deadly alliance for Americans.

Former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb told CNBC that any policy changes that hot spot states like Texas and Florida decide to implement now likely won't affect the spread of the coronavirus for weeks to come.

Said Gottlieb: "I think it's going to be difficult now to get this under control."

    Stay home.

Everybody was wearing masks. it was REQUIRED that you wear a mask if you want a haircut. I asked my hairdresser if they (Ulta) had had any people refusing to wear masks and she said yes and that they refused to cut their hair. I wonder if those people refusing to wear masks will find anybody willing to cut their hair.
