Indonesia Says Executions to Proceed Without Delay

Indonesia President Joko Wikodo says there will be no delay in the executions of Bali Nine members Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan. Hopes were raised earlier this week when their transfer to the Nusakambangan island prison was delayed.

Boycott Bali. There are beautiful beaches all over the world. Visit the Seychelles, Mauritius, the Maldives or any other country that does not execute non-violent drug offenders. [More...]

Wikodo now says the delay was only for "technical reasons." Officials had given two reasons, neither of which were credible. One was that the killing field and island jail wasn't ready to receive them (denied by jail officials) and the other was that they wanted to give the families more visitation time (also not credible since Andrew's mother had returned home last Sunday and it's obvious Indonesia could care less about them.)

It's clear Wikodo wants to show the world no one can tell him and Indonesia how to conduct its affairs. That is true, but it's also true that no one has to give Bali and Indonesia their tourist dollars or buy products made in Indonesia.
