FBI director James Comey says the U.S. has identified the black clad executioner of James Foley, Steven Sotloff and David Haines. It is not releasing the information, hoping to capture or kill him. The FBI is still working identifying the two English speakers in the Flames of War video, believed to be American or Canadian.

    seems to be gently suggesting without really suggesting that it is Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary.
    There is a bit about him under the title UK Suspect.

    Many other media sources quote the FBI as saying he has been ruled out by his voice. I have never thought it was his him, but I don't know who it is.

    ...he had a Canadian or British accent.

    But what's the point, it's not like they are going to have a hard time finding some nut job to cut off heads.  There is one in Algeria and Afghanistan and I would imagine, in many places.  It probably a prestigious job in their warped circle, ditto for getting on the terrorist list, all stuff they wear as badges of honor.

    It's not going to stop the beheadings if manage to track him down no more than if they track down the guy filming it.  My opinion of course.

    neutralize the propaganda value of their beheadings we have to find a target[s] that we can destroy, and, which they would find unacceptable.

    Since we can't go tit-for-tat with our own beheadings what items of value can we attack that would lead them to cease this barbarity?

    I think one of them we're attacking now, with good results.....their oilfields. As in most conspiracies, "follow the money," and, you will find their vulnerabilities. Cutting off their sources of income will have a much greater impact than will military actions. And, that is as much a political game (Saudi Arabia) as a military one.

    The local people.  The Taliban did it long before it was Twitterable.  You didn't used to get so much out of a beheading though, frightened intimidated locals yes but fresh fighters from all over the globe, and financial support.

    ISIL and affiliates created a gore channel
