A justice of the New Zealand High Court has granted Kim Dotcom $60,000. a month to live on while awaiting the outcome of the U.S. extradition request.

In a decision released today, the court said a $20,000 monthly living allowance would come from the interest paid on the $10 million Dotcom has invested in NZ government bonds. The remaining $40,000 will be paid in monthly installments from a $301,000 bank account he has had returned to him.

One of his two 2011 Mercedes was also ordered returned. (He had a 2011 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG, with the license plate "POLICE” and a 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML63.)

No ruling yet on whether the procedurally defective restraining order will result in him getting all seized property back.

    full confusion over there.  That's a lot of $$ to give back to him which hints to me that they blew it but can't fully admit the mistake.  The NZ money must be considered different than the money in the cloud that the FBI can probably lord over.  It must be anger, greed, envy, pride, and maybe all seven...not sure about sloth.

    Dotcom didn't have the luxury of having his property jacked in installments...what is up with the piecemeal return of illegally seized property?  "Procedurally defective"...nice newspeak there.  Somebody should try that one when they cheat on their taxes..."I wasn't evading taxes, my return was procedurally defective."

    Nevermind, I know what's up...different rules different fools.  Same as it ever was...

    ...one big payment, you get on the plan.

    When you seize kim.com's fortune and spend it, then the courts says, 'Give the man his money'(in Teddy KGB voice), you get on the payment plan.

    They were born Thursday, according to the NZ Herald.

    I have no idea if this will impact the extradition case, or help Kim Dotcom establish some sort of New Zealand citizenship for himself. I sorta doubt that it will discourage media companies from thinking about bringing lawsuits against Megaupload for copyright violations.
