R.I.P. Jill Clayburgh

My favorite movie of Jill Clayburgh's from the 70's. She has passed away of leukemia at age 66. Way too young.

    What an excellent movie that was! (5.00 / 1) (#3)

     I was going through something similar a few years later and seeing the movie again gave me such a lift.  Life was not over.  Jill played the role of a real person with real everyday issues and showed how one could come through it with  a deeper love of self and life.  It is one of the movies I will never forget.

    . . .

    But at my back I always hear
    Time's wingèd chariot hurrying near;
    And yonder all before us lie
    Deserts of vast eternity.

    with performances that seemed so authentic, never "acty."

    My favorite was "Semi-Tough," which she starred in w/ Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristofferson. It was a brilliantly funny send-up of Werner Erhard and EST, as well as a great love story about friends and football!
