Logrolling In Our Time: Klein On Klein

Remember this Ezra Klein logrolling for Joe Klein? Now Joe Klein returns the favor:

Here's Ezra Klein, who has established himself as a real voice of sanity in this debate, on what a public option actually might accomplish--and what it won't.

Is that a good trade for Ezra? Getting props from Joe Klein is not what it used to be. Wonder if they are discussing it on the JournOlist.

Speaking for me only

this is awesome.  Ezroe Klein.  Which I say because reading Joe Klein's piece, it is basically a copy of Ezra boilerplate.  "I support universal health care, yes, me!  So I must be applauded and trusted!  You can't afford not to pass this crappy bill because it will really help people.  Sorry it's so crappy, btw -  but there was nothing we could do to change this process (insert excuse for Obama).  Let's just give up now OK?"

The major difference appears to be that Joe Klein is extremely stupid.  He opposes a public option because it sets up unfair competition with private insurers??  That's the point.  I also don't think he actually knows what single payer is.  The government gives us tax credits?  Sorry Joe, it's actually the opposite of that dude.  Godd*mn.

(it's early, first cuppa)  ...was it Greenwald's mole who let us in on the JournOlist gossip?

that JournOlist drama stirs something up that seeps into our lowly readership real lives about every six months :)  Don't know if that's so.  This was the first time I had been made aware of JournOlist but I do remember reading some flames about Townhouse, mostly from bloggers who had been "excluded".  I really didn't know what it was, and the talk about it seemed boring to me so I made no effort to understand what it was.  If I have to work really hard to be included I just don't do it anymore, I'm over high school :)

Although it does seem that the anonymous leaker sympathies lay more with Glenn Greenwald than Joe Klein - for some reason. ;-)

The leak also made the JournoList look more like a clique of teenagers gossiping than professionals talking shop.  Hardly the image Serious People want to promote.

are always some who want to prick the hot-air balloon of the high and mighty...leak, leak, leak.  Makes it dangerous to be as careless as Klein is these days.
