Prize: A Day With Bill Clinton or a Night at American Idol Finale

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is making another effort to solicit contributions to pay off her campaign debt. This time, contributing will give you a chance at one of three prizes:

  • A day with Bill Clinton in New York
  • Attending the American Idol Finale
  • A tour of D.C. including some time with James Carville and Paul Begala

I'm not sure number 3 qualifies as a prize, but the first two are pretty good.

Personally, I think a better prize would be attending the American Idol finale with Hillary. That would be something to talk about (of course, I've already spent an afternoon with Bill Clinton in New York, so easy for me to say.)

Go on over to HillaryClinton.com, give Hillary a few bucks and make your choice.

    I didn't inhale the 100,000 times I tried...it worked once!

Again I'm tempted to break my firm "no buying snake oil" rule for a shot at a face to face with a Clinton...I'd do my damndest to get that son of a gun to inhale once in his life, anything worth doing is worth doing right:)  Even Newt figured it out back in the day!

Regarding, "I didn't inhale" and Clinton. First it all depends on what you mean by didn't, and second it all depends on what you mean by inhale. When the conversation starts with yes I smoked, but....

    lol

    I'd love to meet Carville and Begala! (5.00 / 2) (#10)

I'm a huge fan of "The War Room".  Considering what these two guys have seen and done, I have a million questions for them and would be happy to ask either of them just one of!

To me, it's an honor to help Hillary retire her debt.  Anything else is just frosting on the cake!

    Well, if (1.00 / 1) (#7)

Monica or Paula won, would Hillary still allow "A day with Bill Clinton in New York "?

    Unnecessary and not funny (5.00 / 2) (#14)

    a DAY (none / 0) (#18)
by jcbrown on Thu Oct 29, 2009 at 03:53:17 AM EST
There is no cost to enter the online contest, but organizers are clearly hoping to raise big bucks, with calls for donations included in the e-mail.

The former First Lady conceded defeat to primary challenger and now-President Obama last June, leaving behind a pile of campaign debt that stands at about six million dollars, records show.

Like any sitting cabinet member, Clinton is allowed to continue raising money to retire old debt. But federal ethics laws prohibit her from personally soliciting donations.

but since I've never been to DC and it's not that far of a trip for me, wouldn't be bad either. JC could prob be a hoot as he's rather less censored than  some  ;) Flying out to LA to see AI doesn't really do much for me. Although it would be a round trip ticket, which is the only way I ever step foot into my birthplace, lol!~

    I wouldn't mind a DC trip that included the chance to meet the FL. I think we have some issues in common to discuss and I think she would be open and hear the discussion :) But what the heck, I'll pitch-in in hopes of Bill-4-A-Day if that's the best they have {wink n'grin}

Not that a day with her husband (none / 0) (#6)

wouldn't be pretty exciting, but still...am I the only one who wonders why one of the prizes isn't a day with Hillary???

A tour with Begala and Carville seems like the equivalent of the two-goats-and-a-bicycle "prize" contestants might find behind Door #3 on "Let's Make a Deal."

    Been there done that (5.00 / 1) (#9)
by mwb on Sat Apr 11, 2009 at 07:25:35 AM EST
That's because they already had a retire her debt contest with that as a prize.

I do agree with the 3rd prize comments.  When I got the e-mail, I was thinking how sad that one was.

Hillary, but maybe because she is a high ranking Gov't. official it is not legal. (or ethical) Just guessing, though.

prep with the need for security clearances and all. She's got a job that doesn't really allow for shadowing.

That letter made me take out my wallet and send $5 right away.  Spending a day with James Carville and Paul Begala would definitely be a thrill of a lifetime.  I wonder if they would let me invite Glen Beck and Sean Hannity?
