What happened to Ronnie White? He was booked into the Prince George's County Correctional Center in Mayland after he ran over and killed a police officer. The next day he was found dead in his jail cell. The Maryland Medical Examiner ruled today that he died from asphyxiation and strangulation. The death was ruled a homicide.

[Prince George's County Executive Jack] Johnson said that he believes the death was "unrelated to any act by the Prince George's County Police Department."

So let's count the suspects.

Officials said seven guards had access to White at the time of his death, as did an unspecified number of supervisors.

There have been several problems recently at the county jail, including a former police corporal convicted of murdering a man who was found with a handcuffs key. The county's director of corrections was fired in early June when four handguns went missing from the jail armory.

The FBI and the Maryland State Police are investigating.

    that the story coming out now is that he committed suicide (how is not mentioned), guards found him, then made it appear to be a homicide, to cover up the fact that they had somehow allowed him to kill himself.

    this sounds almost keystone copish enough to be almost believable, but................it's bs. their supervisor might have been fooled, i'm hard pressed to believe the medical examiner would have been.

    also, the PG County Police don't operate the jail, the dept. of corrections does, it was only dept. of corrections personnel in the facility at the time.

    time to bring holmes & watson in on the case of "murder in maximum security"!
