Just in from our network provider...Some kind of critical issue requires maintenance that will have TalkLeft (and not just us) down Wednesday morning starting around 9am ET and continuing for several hours.

Just got an e-mail from Mochila, where we get our news headlines. They are in New York and write:

Please be advised that our hosting provider will be performing critical maintenance on a power cable tomorrow morning EDT. In anticipation of that, we are required to temporarily shut down real-time content feeds into our marketplace as of 5AM EDT tomorrow, May 21st.

Undoubtedly, there will be a lot of sites down tomorrow.

So, get your comments in tonight. I'll keep the threads going for a while tonight.

I understand and have seen the technical problem they're trying to resolve, but I've never heard of bringing an entire datacenter down in the middle of a weekday for multiple hours, to deal with anything short of a fire. This really is unbelievable.

So, basically this is the format. They give the microphone to partisans to make partisan arguments as if they are representing the truth. So, someone like Jamal, Alex, Paul and Donna is represented as an expert. Yet, they are partisans. What if any clear analysis are they providing?

Chris Dodd was on CNN earlier calling Hillary Mrs. Clinton, and telling everyone she only beat him in Michigan, no one else was on the ballot. And Wolf and the panel just sit there, no one corrects him. It is definitely completely shifted from news to enterainment of some bizarre kind.

who removed Barack Obama from the ballot. It would have been funny to have him expain why he left hmself on the ballot but Barack didn't It's called political calculation. Why should Barack be allowed to reap the benefits in Iowa without having to pay the consequences for his action in MI?
The complete lack of accountability and the blaming of people not voting for him on race or poor education is incredibly off putting to me.

If you absolutely have to take your systems down, you do it in the middle of the night. Say, around 4AM ET. Not first thing in the morning on a business day.

Why Obama does not deserve to be president.

than the fact of his lies. After what we've been through for the last 7 years, in the way of lies about war and peace, these kind of statements one day apart should disqualify him.
This is the kind of thing you will not see from either Hillary or McCain. This is fundamental and goes to the character of the man or rather the lack of character.

spent a lot of time on that topic today. FOX isn't pretending to like the democrats the way MSNBC, CNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, and CNN are.

Regionals is crazy. One smoke-filled room with lots of 7 ft. tables. Tons of really tense people--smoking--all wanting a chance to qualify to go to the Vegas qualifiers.

And did I mention the smoke? I have to take Claratin to make it through the day...and when I get home, the cat refuses to talk to me until after I take a shower.

All in all...it's fun and scary.

I picked up a set of worry beads for the capt. a few years ago. It's the only way he survives the games.

that smoking is still allowed since so many cities/states have banned it now. I do remember being surprised to see people smoking in casinos when I was in Las Vegas for Yearlykos.

I am so used to it now that as a smoker, it even bothers me to be in a smoke filled room.

but refreshing. I understand restaraunts and such, I'm a big smoker but even I don't want to eat in a smokey room. But pool halls, casinos, bars...these are dens of sin were smoking should most definitely be allowed.
Before they banned smoking in the bars by me, I always used to chuckle when the person next to me would complain about second hand smoke while they were drinking poison. Yeah buddy, I can see you're real concerned about your health, want another shot?

is anyone watching Nightline? They are doing a segment about how Mormons are taking over reality TV, starting with American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. Some woman just told me that because they come from large families, they are used to competing for attention and therefore excel.

Is this for real or have I fallen into some sort of bizarro world???

Clinton has the less populated areas. Obama: Portland 64/36, Salem 53/47, Eugene 58/42... not much left to come in. Now I'm changing the channel because I can't stand them.
