Gail Collins Is Funny

By Big Tent Democrat

I have always loved Gail Collins. Her column today is a good reminder why:

Is it true that Hillary Clinton’s campaign is in shambles, awash with second-guessing and back-stabbing?

Well, let’s hope so. If they were chipper and confident at this point, you’d worry that they’d turned into some kind of cult.

. . .

Is there any chance Hillary can pull this out?

It looks hopeless, which was exactly the way it looked in New Hampshire right before she won. So, sure.

Being temperamentally a little impatient, I haven't read Collins too many times. In those cases, she tried to mimic Joe Klein in nonsense and missing the issues. Well, she did well once, so what?

The percentage of bad columnists in the major newspapers is way over 50%. This country has an endless supply of wise individuals, but very few end up as columnists.

And even fewer as bloggers. (none / 0) (#3)

John McCain has a lock on the Texas delegates regardless of how many voters turn out.

Polls indicate McCain has a better chance of beating Clinton in the general election than Obama.

Texas voters aren't restricted to their registered party when voting.

Texas Republicans turn out in record numbers to defeat Obama by voting for Clinton in the March 4th primary.

Texas Republicans turn out in the same record numbers to defeat Clinton by voting for McCain in the general election.

It has the makings of the perfect Republican storm.

Oh sure. Like I'm the only one who thought of that? Pul-ease!

How did I not know (or maybe not remember:-) this columnist? Snarky fun. Sort of Anna Quindlen doing politics. I'll look for more from Collins.
