Some Early SC Exit Polling

Here are some early exit-polling results:

Interviews with voters as they left their polling places indicated about half the electorate was black. Half the voters said the economy was the most important issue in the race. About one quarter picked health care. And only one in five said it was the war in Iraq....

Roughly half the voters said former President Clinton's campaigning for his wife was very important to their choice.

The exit poll was conducted by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International for The Associated Press and the networks.

    It's really concerning me that the war has become so unimportant to so many people.  We all say we have to be ready to sacrifice together - but the moment our stock price goes down or mortgage payments rise we forget about the 200,000 men and women fighting a needless war?

    Sorry, I know this is may be a slightly off topic but that one exit number really sticks out to me.

    I have a nephew there half way through his third tour. This one is 15 months. I'm so sad that people don't care enough anymore.

    Roughly four out of five voters would be satisfied if Clinton or Obama wins the Democratic nomination. Slightly more Clinton voters would be dissatisfied with Obama than vice versa.

    Slightly more Obama voters say Clinton would be more likely to be the eventual Democratic nominee than vice versa.

    So much for "tearing the party apart."

    Obama less than the Obama supporters like Clinton? Wow. Do we need anymore evidence that some blogs are really out of touch? Of course, this is South Carolina, but still.
