The other day I called Saddam Hussein's hanging "barbaric." Criminal defense lawyer David Seth expounds on hanging and barbarism over at Daily Kos. It's well worth a read.

    Of course it's barbaric (none / 0) (#2)

    Moreover, any form of killing has to be barbaric. There is no way of killing a healthy human being "nicely". Saddam's death was shocking because it was so public, in such excruciating detail. Hopefully, this will lead more people to think carefully about the death penalty. Particularly, people should think whether they agree that something like this be done on their behalf.
