Arianna Critiques Lamont Campaign

From Big Tent Democrat

Arianna writes what a lot of people have been thinking, including me:

It is bitterly ironic that instead of building on that momentum by continuing to make his case against Lieberman, Lamont has let himself become enmeshed in the same consultant-driven culture of caution and blandness that has produced a steady stream of modern candidates more worried about stepping on the land mines laid out by their opponents' campaign teams than stepping forward to lead.

i don't know if this is report true or not, since i have no info on the lamont campaign. but, if true, it would not surprise me a whit. what i have not heard in the last two months, but have been listening for, is media attention to what lamont is saying about lieberman (or bush). but what do i hear? nothing. no noise, no fuss, no muss. that, to me, is a sign of a "kerry-like" campaign. lamont could have, and should have, chewed Lieberman up. so, who are lamont's consultant. could you publish their names? and just what did hillary say to lamont? or what else quieted his campaign? bottom line: to consistently failed to hit a target as big as Lieberman suggests a fundamental problem with the lamont campaign, or a deal. orionATL

You know, Arriana can often come across as an arrogant know-it-all, but damn -- she smart.
