The Villification of John and Patsy Ramsey

If you blinked during the Joe Scarboro show tonight on MSNBC, you missed me. Too many guests, too little time. So here's my one minute (literally) clip - talking about the villification of the parents of JonBenet Ramsey:

Now that the Ramseys have been exonerated (not a surprise), you're going to go overboard the other way to push the a** in Thailand as the culprit. Way to go.

Hardly. I didn't say anything about the man arrested. In fact, I didn't say anything today I haven't been saying for years about the Ramseys. Earlier today, I reminded people of the presumption of innocence. But, if they have a DNA match and a confession, as local news has reported, he has a tough road to hoe.

You know, TL, you are philosopohically a completely different person - dare I say "conservative" in the modern sense of the term - when you are closer to a case. Interesting to see how you resolve such issues when your reason and your wisdom disagree. Not at all the way you resolve the others.

Very minor quibble: I believe the expression is "a tough row to hoe." Nobody would try to hoe a road. Except for the Bush administration, in the Mideast. "Damn, we broke another hoe, George - better send Halliburton another billion dollars for some more." No-bid contract, of course.

I didn't pay a lot of attention to this, but I have to say the Ramsay story sounded really strange to me. I'm like, "So let me get this straight. Some guy just walks into your house, appropos nothing, and kills your little girl?" I never really went beyond that initial impression, which seemed to clash with the impression I was getting of the parents themselves. But then again, I've run into some pretty slick liars. They're called sociopaths, like... uhm... Little George. I hope to see this may finally be getting wrapped up. I suspect closure's an overrated thing, but it's something.
