That's great. Bush's last line is "Who wants to go fight for me?" There it all, a simple truth made naked to stand before us all. It is not for America but rather for Bush and the GOP agenda that the war in Iraq is being fought.

But why, oh why, the reference to Cheney's daughter in the clip?

I didn't find it very funny either, in fact I find the NYT reporting funnier. Only yesterday was George written off, practically for good. Restrict the evil Cheney to funeral duty and fire Karl the wilted turd his only option. They prayed that George would rediscover his intellect, leadership, etc to make the remaining three years more passable. Not for us mind you, but because the rest of the world cannot afford the present state of affairs any more. Today they seem speechless , hardly believing the tone of what they are hearing. A few big problems here dear NYT. First, there is no mojo, intellect or leadership to rediscover here. It wasn't there in the first place. Miracles do not happen in the real world. Be happy with the GOP/neocon cabal we've got. Second, Karl can play possum for a day or two but he can come back swinging at any moment as he did this Friday. Don't assume or hope for anything else. There is no other realistic option for them other than staying the course. Regardless of cost. Three more years of it, it is. Third, the rest of the world doesn't care that much. Sure it would be nice to have Kerry to work with but let's face it, we don't matter as much as we used too. Neocon illusions of imperial grandeur notwithstanding. Some even enjoy seeing how damaging this administration will be to this country in the long term.
