Man Dies in SF Police Custody

by TChris

San Francisco police restrained a man yesterday with a device identified as a "body wrap." Once the officers had him in the device, the man stopped breathing and paramedics were unable to revive him. The connection, if any, between the body wrap and the death isn't yet known.

Small correction - it was SOUTH San Francisco Police, not San Francisco. South San Francisco is a separate city with its own government, police, etc.

You know, I might have a guess as to what happened.

kdog - it is hard to keep up. I used to think it was a weight loss device - not a life loss device!

I have nothing but admiration for anyone who takes on the job of policing SF.

Doctor Ace wrote: "I have nothing but admiration for anyone who takes on the job of policing SF." Pretty simplistic world-view there Doc. Cops in SF are like cops everywhere: great ones, rat-bastards and others are all working. I certainly wouldn't say that they all deserve respect. Respect is only freely given by the foolish and the ignorant. I happen to appreciate 98% of what cops do, but that doesn't mean I give them respect automatically. Cheers, Alan Tomlinson

No, no, no, cops in SF are not like cops everywhere, because SF is like nowhere else.

Did they try tasering him? Insert a feeding tube? anything? Have they heard about the culture of life?

I like how this thread is placed in the "Crimes in the News" section of the TL Archives. As if there is any proof a crime was committed, except by the subject who was in police custody. As a defense attorney, I expect more than that from you, not really, I don't expect more.

Yes expect more, there is a time for morning, than the evidence will come out,and all you people who spoke about the situation without having any knowledge of JULIO or what happened, you will feel differently. So please do not jump to conculsion's and have a little respect. For you do not know when a loved one can be taken, nor how it feels to have the same people who are there to protect us,hurt us.
