What? I thought the party line was that the insurgents had learned their lesson & were afraid launch large scale attacks on the Americans. Looks like that one belongs in the column w/ the weapons of mass destruction.

Why would they attack a place known solely for its amusing frathouse pranks?

Abu Ghraib should be razed to the ground. It seems that its ghosts have taken over the bodies of the American service men and women working there.

Our actions since September 2001 will keep coming back to haunt us now for several decades. Some disgruntled Iraqis are knocking on the door at Abu Ghraib, but they are coming to your neighborhood and mine over the next couple decades. Why do they hate us? I don't know. Have you seen the family photos we took of them at Abu Ghraib? Why would they hate us? Like it or not, that was done in your name and mine (if you are American). That's on us now.

Oh well, the freedom they have gained in Iraq is so worth it. who cares/ it is just a few soldiers. small price to pay for oil oops I mean democracy in the ME. They are heroes, all of them, they were hurt, they died for a just cause, just ask the lead rat, Bush and his cronies... How much you want to bet that those americans who died in this latest round of republican endorsed violence will not be graced by his royal majesty King George at their public funeral? Ooops, Almost forgot that King George decided that Americans do not need to see the consequence of what happens to kids when they are getting killed by war... Go bush, hope your big-ass 4X4 Ford fuk you mobile is worth the lives of those you have had killed. When are your daughters going to Iraq george? I think they need a little lesson in your vision of World Policy. First hand.

18 did you say?, well didn't Bush say we are winning? if the terrorists can do this, its not good at all, reminds me of a long dead war of many, many years ago. sad world poor guys getting killed for nothing but a lot of rats in the whitehouse who hate the little guys, hey bush where is bin laden? "having S## With your W#$@? But remember a nation is what its people are and a government that thinks of others first is your enemy unto death. Hey, hey Bush how many kids did you kill today, this is not a war on terror its another war on drugs.

This attack was not an isolated incident. According to Juan Cole, "The trope in the American media of the "winding down" of the guerrilla war is without foundation. At 60 attacks a day, it is extremely active." 60 attacks a day. How many of those attacks are reported by our news media? Whey don't they report the total number of attacks each day? What we get shown on the news is bits and pieces, drips and drabs, many of it stage managed, of what goes on. At the very least, when our men and women are dying daily in Iraq, shouldn't our news media spend at least thirty minutes on a news show devoted exclusively to recapping what happened there that week?

Oh well, the freedom they have gained in Iraq is so worth it. Yeah, Johnny prefers the Iraqis to be suject to a constant stream of nerve gas, and mass graves. Johnny prefers that hideous dictators who supress mass middle eastern population stay in power, leaving the people with no hope and turning them into terrorists and a danger to everyone. Johnny would rather the middle east people keep going on as they and lead their hideous lives, as long as they don't bother him. How proud you must be Johnny...

MB, based on what I assume is your deductive style, you would prefer all Americans to die defending one persons vision of what the world would be. MB would rather see thousands of Americans killed and wounded to protect oil in the name of freedom. MB would rather children go without food and clean water here in order that Bushco can continue to make billions. MB would rather banjrupt our nation to create a theocracy built on sand and oil. How proud you must feel today, troll.

MB If there was any nerve gas in Iraq you can bet we would know about it by now! Is 100,000 a large enough number for a "Mass" grave? And on your last point, I doubt that Johnny voted for W.

We went there on a lie about WMDs and a hussein-9/11 link, no one ever mentioned 'freedom' as being the reason, and americans wouldn't have backed the war if they had. We have now imported WMDs, terrorists and kept the torture going. Killing 100k+ civilians is just a bonus, and children of iraq are worse off now than before the war. Now that's progress.

To Sailor.... and children of iraq are worse off now than before the war. Can you explain this to me????

Re: 18 American Casualties at Abu Ghraib Today (none / 0) (#17)
by Che's Lounge on Mon Apr 04, 2005 at 08:37:28 AM EST
MWF, It's rather simple. Before the war the children were hungry. Now they are hungry and terrified to walk the streets. They have sporadic electricity, where before the war they had constant electricity. They had drinking water before the war, now they have sporadic water supplies and their parents (and they) have to lug water to their homes from public sources. With over 60 attacks (down some) per day around the country, there is constant fear that the average Iraqi did not have under Saddam. SH may have been a dicktator, but at least there was security for the average Iraqi then. Now it's utter chaos. Please don't waste bandwidth responding about all the bad things SH did. We made him. You made him.

mwf - Che got the info the same place you could have if you had spent 2 seconds googling 'iraq', 'malnutrition' and 'children'. Here's a link, here's a link, here's a link You made sh when you voted for presidents who armed him because he hated iran. You made iran go radical islamic when you voted for presidents who armed the sheik and the cia helped him to torture and repress his populace until they revolted.

All that I asked was for Sailor to explain how these children are worse and you and CHE start ranting and raving about alot of other nonsence. IN MY OPINION, these children are no better NOW then before we invaded IRAQ. And as far as my voting for Presidents.... I'm a DEMOCRAT! See that what's you get for assuming. Look at the first three letters of the word ASSume. That's you and CHE!
