Agreed. The questions that need to be asked are too serious to risk losing one's credibility by taking a cheap and irrelevant shot like this.

I could be wrong, but I took TL's comments at face value, and as coming from the mother of a son. The picture of the kid is very cute. The picture of Gonzales, whatever we may think of his legal or political opinions, clearly shows him to be a relaxed, happy (and good-looking) guy, who does in fact greatly resemble his son. I see no cheap shot at all; just a very human and genuinely kind comment on an ideological adversary, showing TL to be the decent, good-hearted human being that she is.

No - I don't think you're wrong. I think the first two posters misunderstood TL's intent. I took it to mean the kid is the 'spitting image' of his father.

Indeed he is a chip off the old block. And the little outfit on the young man really makes the comparison so much more apt. My son looks so much like his (late) father that I accuse him of being cloned, except of course I know better.

Thank you, Peter G. I was not making fun of his son, only pointing out how much the two look alike. And Peter G. also correctly notes the happy, relaxed photo of Alberto Gonzales. If I had wanted to make fun of him, I would not have chosen such a flattering photo. I was just startled at the similarity. I don't look like either one of my parents and I don't think the TL kid looks either like me or his dad. These two look practically cloned.

There are plenty of legitimate attacks to make on "Fredo" without picking on his kid. It cheapens what should be a debate on the merits.

Yep - our daughter certainly doesn't look like me nor much like my husband. In fact, he says she looks like Frank the mailman too. Whoo - that Frank gets around.

As the guy said in "Stalag 17," upon being informed by a letter from his wife that she had found a cute blond baby on her door step. "I believe it. I believe it."

He is a cute kid. However the phrse 'mini me' springs to mind. "You complete me..."

Mini-me is right, but not the kid. Gonzalez is Bush's mini-me. "Just the two of us, we can torture, we can lie, Just the two of us, Thousands die."

Right on kdog. My first son looks zippo like me, these two are spittin images, and the pics are great. "I am going to torture you, not because I think you are going to talk, but because I enjoy this sh*t" That is what I think of when I read the "case" for torture...
