I think I found my new BFF. Say hello to the brand new "The Snitching Blog", by Loyola Law Professor Alexandra Natapoff. Its tagline is: "A comprehensive resource on criminal informants: legal developments, legislation, news stories, cultural reactions, commentary and more...."
Professor Natapoff is an award-winning scholar and a nationally-recognized expert on snitching in the criminal justice system. Prior to joining the faculty she served as an assistant federal public defender in Baltimore.....She clerked for the Honorable David S. Tatel, US Court of Appeals, District of Columbia, and for the Honorable Paul L. Friedman, US District Court, Washington, DC.

Bowers does satire of the Great Orange Satan community.
That why I name names. Including Bowers on more than one occasion. BTW. Chris seems to be a nice guy. Met him when we talked with Bill Clinton (now dropping names.)
BTW, it's still Springtime for Hitler.

It's almost time for "Weeds" and "Nurse Jackie" here, plus I'm preparing for a hearing early tomorrow on wiretap motions. There are so many of us that the Judge is limiting each lawyer to ten minutes of oral argument.
In other news, the Obama Administration has sent its report to Congress on human rights violations in Mexico, putting a favorable spin on them.
The AP reports AARP has lost 60,000 members over its support for Obama's health care plan. (I just sent in my renewal dues last week.)
If you're looking for our posts on the Supreme Court order in Troy Davis's death penalty case or the trial of Texas Judge Sharon Keller, they are here and here.

BTD's post about Kathleen Sebelius and the Obama Administration's apparent capitulation on the Public Option is full. Here's another place you can continue the discussion.
Is anyone watching the season premiere of Mad Men? 41,000 have signed up to watch on Facebook so they can discuss it at the same time. I'm watching Big Brother 11, it's just getting interesting now that the worst jerks are gone. CBS kicked Chima off the show yesterday for violating the rules, so everything is up in the air.
ABC has a new show called Shark Tank where people with an idea for a business but no capital appear before five self-made millionaires to ask for a loan. The millionaires ask them questions and either opt out or offer them money in exchange for giant percentages of the business. It's not bad, as the millionaires are all quirky characters with some interesting views on money. ("Don't cry over money, it will never cry for you."

I've been up late, and intend to sleep late, so in case BTD or TChris aren't around in the a.m., here's an open thread for you, all topics welcome.
I checked the morning papers before going to bed, but didn't see anything that leapt out at me, crying for its own post. Hopefully, you'll have better luck.
Enjoy your Sunday, and if you're online, thanks for sharing some of it with us.

I'm off to Whole Foods (just joking, although I'm not boycotting.) Here's an open thread for you, I'll be back when Obama's health care speech begins. I hope BTD will be watching and near a computer so he can weigh in as well. He has the political perspective while mine is more along the lines of asking for more concrete details about the changes it will bring for those with insurance and/or Medicare.
We get a lot of comments on the health care threads, I wonder if that's because TalkLeft's readers tend to skew a little older than the 20 and 30 something crowd.
In the meantime, there must be other news today. Here's an open thread, all topics (including health care) welcome.

The National Enquirer, which has been mostly correct on the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter story, reports today that Edwards has taken a DNA test and the results are he's the father of Hunter's daughter. The rag also says he's told Elizabeth and child support payments are being worked out. Take it with a grain of salt, but it's out there. Let's see if denials are forthcoming.
ABC is reporting Bernie Madoff had a mistress. And, that she spoke against him at his sentencing hearing, calling him a "beast" without revealing the affair.

Like Jeralyn, and unlike apparently most every other Democratic blogger, I am not in Pittsburgh. I would like to have seen how Bill Clinton and some of those bloggers get along tonight.
I may watch it here.

From the money changes everything file:
$500K prize divides 2 elderly sisters in Conn.
HARTFORD, Conn. – A passion for gambling shared by two once-inseparable octogenarian sisters has ended up dividing them, with the Connecticut Supreme Court ruling that one can sue the other for a share of a winning $500,000 lottery ticket. The court said 83-year-old Theresa Sokaitis, of Middletown, can try to enforce a written contract she signed with her 87-year-old sister, Rose Bakaysa, of Plainville, agreeing to split any gambling winnings.
Sokaitis says she is due a share of a $500,000 Powerball jackpot won by Bakaysa and their brother, Joseph F. Troy Sr., in 2005. "We had an accountant, we had a contract and we had a notary public," Sokaitis said. "We signed the contract together and we agreed to split anything. And when it came time, they didn't even tell me; I saw it in the paper."
. . . Sokaitis said she doesn't want to drag her sister into court but believes she and her family are due a share of the money. "I miss her so much, and I love her, and I don't like what's taken place," Sokaitis said. "But all I want is what is rightfully mine. All I want is my share, nothing more."
