Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized With Coronavirus

Probably to the surprise of no one, Rudy Giuliani confirmed yesterday he is in the hospital battling COVID-19. Donald Trump first revealed his condition via tweet, and Rudy chirped in the same way.

Mr. Giuliani has been admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center, according to a person who was aware of his condition but not authorized to speak publicly. Mr. Giuliani, at age 76, is in the high-risk category for the virus. Later Sunday, he wrote on Twitter: “Thank you to all my friends and followers for all the prayers and kind wishes. I’m getting great care and feeling good. Recovering quickly and keeping up with everything.”

The United States now has 14.8 million cases of COVID-19 with almost 175k new cases a day. More than 282k people have died. And Donald Trump continues to make it sound like a badge of honor. How much more twisted can one get?

Somehow, I just can't bring myself to feel sorry that Giuliani has COVID or that he might have spread it to all the maskless people he interacted with at his phony hearings. I am angry that medical personnel and support staffs where this disgusting, irresponsible person has traveled are at risk.

AZ had to shut down their legislature due to Rudy spewing his nonsense there. I don't know how long ago he was here in GA, Friday?. He probably is a contributing factor to COVID being really bad here in GA.

    this is actually happening tomorrow

WASHINGTON -- A doctor who is skeptical of coronavirus vaccines and promotes the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine as a Covid-19 treatment will be the lead witness at a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on Tuesday, prompting criticism from Democrats who say Republicans should not give a platform to someone who spreads conspiracy theories.

Dr. Jane M. Orient is the executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, a group that opposes government involvement in medicine and views federal vaccine mandates as a violation of human rights.

This goes so far beyond stupid and irresponsible.

"State police brandishing firearms raided the home of Rebekah Jones, the former Department of Health data scientist who built the state's much-praised COVID-19 dashboard before being fired over what she said was refusing to `manipulate data,'" the Tallahassee Democrat reports.

"Jones -- who launched her own COVID-19 dashboard after she was fired, and used crowdsourcing to raise money to support it -- said the agents knocked on her door around 8:30 a.m. that morning, took all her `hardware and tech' after showing her a warrant based on a complaint filed by the Florida Department of Health."

really don't understand this one, out of the whole sorry mess of the pandemic the success of operation warp speed is a bright spot, tRump himself has repeatedly bragged about it. Why pull this stunt?

Biden's Attorney General search Focused on Two

December 12, 2020 at 3:48 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 40 Comments

President-elect Joe Biden's search for the next attorney general is increasingly focused on Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) and former deputy attorney general Sally Q. Yates, the Washington Post reports.

    Jones seems likely to me.

not a reformer in any way. By contrast, both before and after his fabled career as U.S. Attorney (including the cold-case prosecution of the Birmingham Church Klan terrorist-bombers), Jones was a criminal defense attorney, and was even elected to the Board of Directors of the National Ass'n of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

I personally would like to see it be her.  Not just because of what she did with the Flynn info but just because it would be good for it to be a women.  And I think she would probably be great.

But I can see why Biden might consider that.

Jones is as milquetoast and boring as they come would would probably be a great choice.   And boring is the new cool.

In Mexico it is usually pronounced savier; in other places javier with the j guttural.  The accent is on the second syllable with the ie a diphthong.
