Like many of you, I have been on edge for days. I don't know what is going to happen. No one does. Watching Donald Trump's rallies this weekend, with lie after lie on everything from COVID to the economy to why minorities should love him, and watching them mindlessly cheer him, leaves me little hope.

And there's Biden, with no charisma at all. Only die hard Democrats and Trump haters will come out for him.

I do believe one of them will win decisively and we will have a winner in short order, although perhaps not on Tuesday night.

And a special Bronx cheer for the idiot son of Donald Trump who said on Fox on Thursday that Covid-deaths have been declining to almost nothing. The very day he said that, more than 1,000 Americans died.

The horrendous storm created by Donald Trump in all his infamy better end soon. The toll to the United States if he is not dethroned decisively is unimaginable.

at 6 am when my polling place opened...unheard of in my 16 years voting at this address, usually it's an in and out.

Not that turnout matters in NY, but still a good sign people are fired up to flush the turd and hopefully flip retiring Peter King's seat in the House in my ridiculously gerrymandered district while we're at it.

Please lord, may we be delivered from evil to much lesser evil!

Reliably blue.
Last year, we moved 8 miles west into Pinellas County. Purple. Obama won here but then Trump won it by about 5k votes.
In 2018, Gillum won the county by about 13k votes. We had around 62% turnout in the early vote among registered voters with Dems having a 15k advantage, so I was feeling a bit confident that Biden would do well. Republicans came out in droves this morning and completely wiped out that lead. Now, I am back to chewing on my fingernails :-(

Once you vote that's really all you can do...worse comes to 4 more years of worse we will survive to resist hate, racism, fascism, and greed in our words and deeds in our daily lives...same as it ever was.

To be honest, I live quite a privileged life, so I feel like I'm being a bit of a whiny crybaby when I say this but I seriously don't think I can take another four years of this.

Though, with the Covid situation being what it is, it is kind of hard to plan a move when other countries don't want to let you in.

My sister tried to immigrate to Canada after the 2016 election. She got rejected. I think it is a bit easier for retirees to move though, it certainly broadens your options.

sister was trying to move to Canada. That sucks that she got rejected. I have quite a few relatives that immigrated to Canada but it was many years ago. Is it still on a points system?

Husband and I are not quite in the retiree age bracket though we are in a position where we could if we wanted to (not having kids definitely helps the bank balance). It is easy for me to say let's move because I am not working. But, at 46, doing well in his career (unfortunately, also very ambitious) husband does not foresee giving that up anytime soon.

They actually made it harder after the 2016 election though. She probably would have passed before then but even with an MBA she didn't cut it - 2 kids and too old/not in tech or medicine.

and they still would not legally let him work in Canada. I don't know all the details, he's divorced now and back in Jersey lol.
As much as we rightly rag on our immigration policies, most other countries are much worse than us in this regard. Canada and Mexico sure are.
But most other countries don't take children from their parents or guardians and lock them in cages for breaking stupid immigration rules...more stringent, but more humane.

almost continuously since 6:30 am, participating in a lawyers' election information trouble-shooting hotline for Dem poll workers. Fielding questions about voters' problems, issues with Judges of Elections (official polling place supervisors), etc., from all over PA.

of little issues, but nothing widespread or frightening. We are in S.E. PA. I brought her take-out from our local (non-chain) Mexican taqueria (and a Modelo). Six years ago there was no Mexican food here.

for a while now. At first, I thought it was just due to the fact that I haven't been sleeping very well. Reading election/political news before going to bed will do that to you.
So, I switched to reading hobby related blogs instead. Headaches did not stop.
Apparently, my anxiety is causing me to grind my teeth really hard at night which is causing the headaches.
I'm hoping that ends tonight.

calls are any indication Trump is losing GA. Just today on my answering machine there was a message from the Perdue campaign screaming how Jon Ossoff was going to take people's freedom and he's a Chinese communist. The message I got from the phone call is Republicans are not showing up.

at my precinct. First year voting here so can't tell if that's normal.

While the presidential election is not going to be contested here we do have ranked choice voting on the ballot which is polling pretty tight.

I've had a huge chip on my shoulder for 4 years now and I'm honestly curious to see if it actually goes away in the event Trump loses. At this point I'm not sure.
