Trump Insists He Captured ISIS

Donald Trump today insisted he is the one who wiped out ISIS.

“ISIS was all over the place … It was me…who captured them,” Trump told reporters at a cabinet meeting Monday in the White House. “I’m the one who did the capturing. I’m the one who knows more about it than you people or the fake pundits.”

ISIS was not captured by Trump. ISIS lost its geographic holdings. It remains a significant insurgent group. It will grow and return.

The New York Times today: Trump's order to withdraw troops from Syria provides a gain to ISIS. [More...]

Now, analysts say that Mr. Trump’s pullout has handed the Islamic State its biggest win in more than four years and greatly improved its prospects. With American forces rushing for the exits, in fact, American officials said last week that they were already losing their ability to collect critical intelligence about the group’s operations on the ground.

“There is no question that ISIS is one of the big winners in what is happening in Syria,” said Lina Khatib, director of the Middle East and North Africa Program at Chatham House, a research center in London.

Donald Trump is as delusional as ever.

I've told my daughters that when they're my age, I hope they can truly say that Donald Trump was the worst president they ever saw in their lifetimes.

A conversation with my fundie brother who was expressing unease with, I thought, the Doral thing.

After speaking again I discover it was not really Doral that set him off it was the treatment of the Kurds and the shi+ show in Syria.

Which makes sense because people like Pat Robertson have been hammering Trump for this day after day.

Evangelicals have stuck by Trump. But polls hint at trouble ahead.

This seems like a bad thing for Cheeto.  My brother won't say he's done but he's getting there.  If there is a third party choice I think they already have his vote.

Evangelical Christians give a toot about anything but winning and sticking it to the libs and that their votes have anything to do with actual Christianity  has been, I think, retired.

    Yeah.  I think so.

Although unlike his brothers and sisters who probably would not know a Hindu from a Hoedown he has met and been made visibly uncomfortable by GARUDA more than once

Maybe I will call my house guardian Tulsi going forward.

I paid her no never mind---just one of the "Tim Ryans".  She has the uncanny ability to generate dislike in direct relationship to the more you know about her.  She is not likable enough, save, apparently for the FOX crowd.   Oh, and my apologies to the Tim's.

This whacky video clip from C&L says so much.

These guys are so in over their heads.

No one with a brain is going on cable to do this to themselves.

The pool of politicians dumb or desperate enough to accept an invitation to do this is getting smaller so these are just going to get better.

I just had a similar conversation with a Trumper on Facebook. She was spewing complete nonsense about Syrian and 10 years ago Obama sent troops in there and the ethnic cleansing was Obama's fault. I said are you talking about arming the Syrian resistance? That was in 2014. So not only can she not add and subtract she doesn't know what year anything happened, she doesn't know any facts. I just finally said you're talking crazy and sound like a Qanon crackpot.
