WAPO Poll: 60% Disapprove of Trump

A new poll by the Washington Post finds that 60% of Americans disapprove of Donald Trump. On the other hand, they support Robert Mueller and Jeff Sessions.

Here are the results.

    Election hacking matters. GOP and Russia will go balls-out (pardon language) in a few weeks. They won't  care if they get caught. GOPers know they're going to jail if they can't stay in power. So they will hack baldly.

    I truly hope there are enough patriots left in the FBI to stay on this. Not sure it matters in red states though cos red Govs I suppose can squelch any audits.

    But if we thought we'd seen hacking before, it's gonna be balls to wall in Nov.

    One is hacking the actual voting system.  Machines and results.  At least we are on more of a alert than we were in 2016.

    The other issue is of course social media disinformation.  There the Russians did not really "hack" Facebook.  They walked right in the front door and used it exactly as designed

    This IMO might be the bigger danger since it relays on the Zukerbergs of the world.

    FB and social media manipulation is the threat.

    Short term, Georgia and other red states are going to allow their systems to be open to hackers to change tallies.
    As Armando says, this is an existential election.
    If GOP holds both houses, our Republic will no longer exist in a meaningful way.
    Trump will be above the law.

    problem in GA. Our SOS is running for governor and he has control of the system. It was hacked before the GA 6 runoff election. We've already had problems where Kemp has taken people off of the voter rolls. People who voted in the primary went to vote in the runoff and found they were not registered. I really don't know how we are going to solve this problem before 2020 here in GA. I'm hoping that in 2021 we'll have a D president who will send the feds down into GA. It's the only solution I can see coming down the pike.

    Numbers in there was the people who think Trump should pardon Manafort.

    18% if I remember correctly.

    That might be the real floor.  Or close to it.

    The strongly disapprove and approve numbers are pretty serious too.

    ultimate revenge of John McCain.  The press adored the guy so it has been plastered on TV all week. If Trump had been the least bit gracious or "presidential" he could have won approval over it instead of losing it, but he is just incapable of human behavior. People are finally starting to see that it matters.

    around Trump introducing Mattis to the crowd as "Mad Dog Mattis," like he was some WWF wrestler. Especially when Mattis himself doesn't like that nickname.

    But then, I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that Trump is President. Sad!

    the same support as firing Sessions, hopefully Americans are getting savvy about obstruction of justice.

    I also saw that he is slightly underwater in his handling of the economy, which I think is the first time, that should really scare Republicans.

    when we go to the store to get a roll of aluminum foil it now costs us 10 bucks when it used to cost 5 and our salaries have not gone up. So we're losing everywhere and interest rates have gone way up.

    as a noisy, loud-mouthed distraction for Celebrity Apprentice fans and the desperate-and-opioid-addled.

    I suspect that if he ever threatened to genuinely initiate anything appallingly-disasterously stupid, the knives would come out, due to the longterm GOP PR disaster that might ensue.

    The Real driving force of the Right, imo, is still the Heritage Foundation-type network of think tanks etc that still use the Powell Memorandum as more-or-less their guiding light, with of course, some window-dressing crumbs thrown to the clueless Operation Rescue-West Bank settlement crowd and to the wwc folks that talk radio and Fox keep perpetually, murderously enraged at poor people who get "free stuff."
