Schwarzenegger Blames Trump for Celebrity Apprentice Sagging Ratings

Arnold Schwarzenegger has had enough. He has told NBC he will not returng for another season of New Celebrity Apprentice, should the network renew the show. Ratings were low, for which he blames Donald Trump:

“With Trump being involved in the show, people have a bad taste and don’t want to participate as a spectator or as a sponsor or in any other way support the show,” Schwarzenegger said in that interview. “It’s a very divisive period now, and I think this show got caught up in all that division.”

He made it clear the show was not to blame:

“Everyone — from the celebrities to the crew to the marketing department — was a straight 10, and I would absolutely work with all of them again on a show that doesn’t have this baggage.”

He added:

Despite NBC’s best efforts to promote the show, “when people found out that Trump was still involved as executive producer and was still receiving money from the show, then half the people [started] boycotting it,” Schwarzenegger told Empire.

New Celebrity Apprentice lost half its sponsors, which Daily Mail sources attributed to the #GrabYourWallet campaign.

Hopefully, NBC will cancel the show.

Trump now is the Celebrity Apprentice.

We have finally achieved the ultimate degradation, what America has slouched toward since the invention of television.  America now stars in its own Reality TV show.

that Trump probably had a lot to do with the ratings problem. The other thing is the show is probably past its prime and ready to go.

I like Arnold but he sounds weak here (none / 0) (#2)

Personally, I don't like or watch reality TV, so I don't have a dog in this hunt and I don't care. But Arnold Schwarzenegger's observations are no less valid than anyone else's and furthermore, he noted his own personal reservations about Trump's continued involvement with the show as executive producer, before this season's first episode even aired.

i do have a friend who watches the kardashians with her mother and i admit to being hooked on Married At First Sight which is a bad copy of Gift Ved Første Blik.  as always the americanst remakes of british or european or scandinavian shows are insipid.  and the best original tv is obviously american.

    team america!

    as my daughter says.

Blaming Arnold is like blaming the stench on the new landfill supervisor.

But I do not watch any reality tv, other than the current coverage of this Presidency.

But for some reason it did have viewers at one time

I think that The Daily Show calls it, "The Appresident".
