Pre-Debate Thread: What Would You Be Listening To?

Do candidates, like athletes, use music to psych themselves up for the big event? I bet they do.

So what would Hillary be listening to? (I wouldn't be surprised if Trump is tone deaf and listens to nothing but his own voice, so I'm not including him.)

Since she's no millenial, I think the music on her smart phone is going to reflect her generation.

I'm picking three songs for her: One to pump her up, one to watch on her phone and inspire her right before she's introduced, and one to listen to during the break when she thinks she can't stand another moment of being on stage with Donald Trump.

I'd like to hear your choices in comments. My picks below.

To pump her up:

"I feel so good I'm gonna break somebody's heart tonight.
I feel so good I'm gonna tear someone apart tonight."

To inspire her right before she goes onstage: Bon Jovi's We Weren't Born to Follow (watch the images of world leaders, protesters and athletes and humanitarian acts)

During the break, to unleash her anger at Trump with no one else hearing:

You wave it like a flag
you wear it like a crown
you got your mind in the gutter
bringing everybody down
You bitch about the present
you blame it on the past
I'd like to find your inner child and kick it's little ass
Get over it

This is meant to be an inspirational thread, so Hillary haters needn't bother posting negative songs in this thread.

Projected to be the most self medicated American debate audience in history. And it's really no fair that I have a full day tomorrow so I'm going to be watching this event completely sober

    I really don't want to watch it (5.00 / 2) (#4)

I feel like I have to, probably won't be completely sober.

Honestly, this whole election season is making me sick to my stomach.

I guess we'll find out who the American people really are in November.

that a Tr*mp sign (two actually) appeared on a neighbor's front lawn this morning. First and only on the block. And much to our frustration, the local HRC headquarters has no signs to give out, and won't. They said (unhappily) that we would have to go on the website and buy a lawn sign (for $40, iirc) if we want one. If you ask me (which no one did), this is NOT the way to create an appearance and atmosphere of growing excitement and enthusiasm, which imho we need.

is Team Clinton trying to get in on the Team Trump election profiteering action?  Forty bucks for a lawn sign?  I thought that's what the never ending fundraising was for...sh*t like tv ads, lawn signs, posters, buttons, consultants, cold cuts, yada , yada, yada.

The Republican Party did finally open a headquarters here. One of my neighbors made his own Trump signs before they got here. All that creativity for Trump? They were cute, they were orange and green for some reason.

I wonder if Trump signs are free here because I only count 5 in my uber Conservative subdivision?

The sign is listed on hillaryclinton.com at $20, not $40 (that's was the kit that includes buttons and stickers and maybe a shirt or something), but I found no way to get a shipping price disclosure without providing more information than I cared to on the website. There's unofficial competition selling signs for only $14.99 (plus undisclosed shipping), although the price drops markedly if you buy in quantity.

I really don't want to watch it but will force myself to do so. Going to open a bottle of wine to help me through it. If Hillary wipes the floor with Tr*mp during the debate, I might actually have some wine left in the bottle for tomorrow!

I had been hoping Hillary would win the election in a landslide and absolutely crush and humiliate Tr*mp. Now, I don't care if she wins by one vote, as long as she wins.

either. I fear my anger and dismay will get the better of me unless Lester Holt turns out to be a much better moderator than I think he will be.

I, a lifelong news junkie, have stopped watching the news. All of the news. My blood pressure and my nerves cannot take it anymore. And I would hate for this election to turn me into an alcoholic.

Still I will suck it up and watch. I think I am going with Bloomberg as they will be fact-checking in real time. Hoping that means I do not have to yell at the TV quite so much.

Part of that is my life but most of that is the candidates.  Takes all the fun out of arguing about politics when you are legitimately terrified for the fate of the country/world.

Luckily I'm going to be really busy for the month of October, and hopefully in November we will be legalizing Kdog's favorite plant so in the event that Trump does win I can get too stoned to care.  Come to think of it - the legalization people could probably make that a campaign ad.
