Yahoo Addresses Hack of 500 Million User Accounts

Here's Yahoo's statement on the hack of 500 million user accounts by what it suspects is "a state sponsored actor."

What they got: users' names, emails, phone numbers, and dates of birth.

What they didn't get: bank account and payment information which are stored in a different system.

    i dont understand the reference or why it's funny. and im not trying to be a brat and im not trying to cause problems. i dont understand this.

    im just so... like, i dont feel i can comment on anything without feeling like im being attacked. im actually crying.

    I don't want to speak for other commenters, but the meaning I took from it was Who still uses Yahoo?

    Compuserve. Compuserve is so, I don't know, 1980's? The Yahoo hacker got names, emails, phone numbers and DOBs. <sarcasm>I'm so scared, my kids' Pokemon accounts are now vulnerable. </sarcasm>

    Also, regarding TL. Buncha knuckleheads here. They (ok, me too) think they know everything. 'Cuz we all think we're smarter than the next guy. When none of us really know sh1t. We all just think our opinions are actual knowledge, which most of the time they are not.

    Also, not gonna lie, if your first language is not English, er, American, you are very likely not going to fully understand a lot of what people say here.

    Lastly, many of the posters here, from what I have seen, suffer from some sort of binary Victim's complex. You are either their Rescuer or their Persecutor. And if you don't support their position 100.00%, well, you are definitely not their Rescuer, so the only choice is you must be their Persecutor.

    this situation, the hack was in 2014.
