    Yes, DJT, with limited campaign funds, is using the corporate networks to make the campaign happen for him.  Every night is NOT about America, it is a battleship destroyer careening (much like the deranged male careening into the crowd in Paris) into the convention with only one objective.  Not only to destroy Hillary Clinton, but also to destroy all that is GOOD about our country.  Does anyone recognize these individuals, with their words of hatred, invoking lucifer, and incivility of "lock her up."  Where is their moral compass?  The mob mentality is capable of such destruction.  

    Corporate media, SHAME, SHAME SHAME.

    On a call-in podcast, he pulls no punches when asked what he thinks about about third-party presidential candidacies in general, and the Green Party's Jill Stein specifically. Even though this online conversation happened two months ago, it somehow resonates more today than when he first said it last May, particularly in light of Stein's own increasingly noxious comments about Hillary Clinton:

    "If you're interested in building a third party, a viable third party, you don't start with president. You don't start by running someone for f---ing president.

    "Where are the Green Party candidates for city councils? For county councils? For state legislatures? For state assessor? For state insurance commissioner? For governor? For f---ing dogcatcher? I would be SO willing to vote for Green Party candidates who are starting at the bottom, grassroots, bottom up, building a third party, a viable third party.

    "You don't do that by trotting out the reanimated corpse of Ralph f---ing Nader every four f---ing years. Or his doppelgänger, whoever it is now, Jill Stein and some a$$hole-to-be-named four years from now. You start by running grassroots, local campaigns. And there've been -- and I'm sure we're going hear from lots of people out there listening -- there have been a couple of Green Party candidates who've run in other races here and there across the country. But no sustained effort to build a Green Party nationally. Just this griping, bullsh-tty, grandstanding, fault-finding, purity-testing, holier than thou-ing, that we are all subjected to every four f---ing years by the Green Party candidate.

    "And the folks, including you caller -- and I love you and I respect you and we're having this debate and I'm not treating you with kid gloves because I respect you -- who are fooled by them, who are sucked into this bullsh-t, who are tricked by these grandstanding, attention-seeking, bullsh-t-spewing charlatans, into wasting your vote.

    "The revolution did not come in 2000 when George W. Bush got close enough to winning to steal the White House. It will not come if Donald J. Trump gets his a$$ elected. Disaster will come.

    and I've said the same thing. The Greens always want to start at the top and yet if they did freakishly win an election none of their agenda would get accomplished.

    ... was actually poised to make some serious political noise, with Linda Martin's very impressive showing in the 1994 U.S. Senate race and Keiko Bonk's rise to become Chair of the Hawaii County Council in Hilo, the second most powerful political post on the Big Island after the mayor.

    But alas, that all changed in 1996 when a number of the party's men had a masculine temper tantrum, and decided that these women were unfit to lead. So they muscled Martin and Bonk aside to instead choose as their leader the irascible and self-serving Ira Rohter, a rather grandiose University of Hawaii political science professor who then sought to remake the Green Party in his own image.

    (This was a guy who once berated me in 2002 for not being willing to allow Green Party petitions to be circulated at a Democratic fundraiser in my district. I told him that he should host his own fckn event and not piggyback off of mine.)

    Two decades later, both Linda Martin and Keiko Bonk are Democrats, and Ira Rohter is dead, having effectively taken the Hawaii Green Party's chances of political viability with him to the grave.

    Oh and Paul Manafort said on MSNBC that women should vote for Trump because, "They can't afford their lives. Their husbands can't afford paying the family bills."

    Fox News will continue without Roger Ailes, but the cable news leader could see their time at the top come to an end. It has been widely speculated that CNN has been adding more conservative on-air talent because they are positioning themselves to make a play for big name Fox Newsers who may want out after Ailes is gone.

    yes but the establishment is still going to hate him and he's going to have to fight that. I mean I read today that the Texas delegation was hopping mad at Cruz for what he did. It certainly will be interesting to see how all this shakes out over the next months and years.

    Hugo isn't far from my family's ranches. Cute little town. Adorable city block park right in the middle of town. Extremely Conservative though. And my ranching family members are still FREAKING out that Colorado is stoner friendly.

    ... as Tropical Storm Darby approaches Big Island from the east. Its effects are expected to start hitting us tonight, and NOAA-National Weather Service is predicting about 15 inches of rain and 60 mph winds. Good thing I finished all the yard work yesterday and cleaned up the trees of loose and broken branches. I just harvested about 85 lbs. of apple bananas from our banana trees out back, and I hope Darby doesn't wreck all the ripening fruit on our two mango trees. It's about two weeks too early to pick them.

    But that's to be expected, given the proverbial calm before the storm. The winds are expected to start picking up by about 8:00 p.m. HST, and conditions will deteriorate overnight. By the time morning comes, we'll be experiencing heavy rains, which are expected to continue through Sunday. Anyway, we know the drill, and it's going to be one of those days where if you don't have to go out into the storm, you don't. We went grocery shopping yesterday afternoon, so we're all stocked up. Bring it on.

    I just got around to watching the most recent episode of this HBO series.  SO good.

    Such a chilling, and it's said, accurate look inside the criminal justice system.

    They really let you feel a bit of what it's like to be cast into this sea of hostility and indifference.  Really creepy and really good.

    Episode 3 tomorrow night.
