The Rolling Stones played at Coachella in the Desert yesterday. They opened with Start Me Up. The full version, including their entrance is below:

The Stones just released their first new studio album in a decade. It's a blues album. They played Ride 'Em On Down at the Desert show. Here's a clip of the audio of another song on the new album, Just Your Fool.

watching two football games, one baseball game, and some tennis all on tv, there's a lotta' stuff going on in my lagoon canal. Across the water are four baby crocs basking in the sun, while a pod of dolphins came frolicking by. Then a manatee came to my dock for fresh water, so she and her baby are sucking on the hose. Mom goes first, and I need to remember to turn the water off. There is also nervous water, which means something is chasing bait out there. I was reading To Have and Have Not by Ernest Hemingway, for the third time in my life, but that is now on hold. Don't even have time for a boat drink. I love this place.

from dock to dock hoping somebody will give them water, and maybe some lettuce. I always try to get the hose to the baby first, but mom always butts them away until she's had untold gallons. It's not legal to feed wildlife, but c' mon it's just water. Otherwise they find underwater fresh springs to drink from. Unfortunately many have cuts and gashes on their backs from boats. They rescue many down here. They are very nice creatures.

I get that you may subconsciously speak more warmly about group that is paying you for the benefit of a conversation but some of it was outright fawning.

I can see some of these causing issues with the base in the beginning of her presidency

"There is such a bias against people who have led successful and/or complicated lives," Mrs. Clinton said. The pressure on officials to sell or divest assets in order to serve, she added, had become "very onerous and unnecessary."

On Financial Regulations:

"The people that know the industry better than anybody are the people who work in the industry."

To a Brazilian bank:

"My dream," she said, "is a hemispheric common market, with open borders, sometime in the future."

There's no context here, nor is there a link. When you actively search for some reason to be outraged about a person who you're already predisposed to dislike or distrust, the odds are better than even that you'll be successful in your quest.

Of course right now everyone is focused on the election. But the day after Hillary is elected the conversation is going to change immediately to governing, policy positions etc. There is no way this just disappears.

To Don - for some people the "context" is that the comments took place during a speech the transcripts of which Hillary did not want to release. Politicians rarely make decisions purely out of principle. If the content of the speeches was non-controversial or essentially a restatement of Clinton's public comments, they would've been immediately released.

But's quite another thing to claim that every excerpt from speeches given over the course of multiple years, on multiple continents, to audiences from various industries, are all being taken out of context.

One of them has died, and another is hospitalized in critical condition. Reportedly, the shooting occurred as the officers attempted to intervene in a family domestic disturbance.

According to a spokesperson for the Palm Springs Polie Dept., and per KABC-TV News in Los Angeles, one of the deceased was a 35-year veteran who was due to retire in two months, and the other was the mother of a 4-month-old baby.

The suspect is apparently still inside the house and refusing to come out. The third officer who was wounded is reportedly doing well and is assisting in the investigation, which has since been turned over to the Riverside County Sheriff's Dept.

Palm Springs PD has only 98 officers and according to officials, the last time one of its own was killed in the line of duty was back in 1961, the year I was born.

Heartbreaking.

... after a nearly 12-hour standoff with authorities, was convicted in 2009 of assault with a deadly weapon and served two years in prison. He had also been arrested in 2013 during a similar domestic disturbance incident, in which he had allegedly threatened a neighbor. Suffice to say that this was a young man who had no business owning firearms. He's now been charged with two counts of murder of a peace officer.

But then, this is a coach who had an astonishing 92-12 in eight seasons at Boise State, turning the Broncos into a national power. He knows how to build and maintain a quality program, as did Coach James. And speaking of Boise State, they're also still unbeaten this year at 5-0, walloping New Mexico on the road, 49-21.

And as much as I hate to say it, congratulations to Coach Mike Leach and our Apple Cup rival Washington State Cougars, who went down to Palo Alto and really stuck it to No. 15 Stanford, 42-16. Surprisingly, that game wasn't close at all. Maybe the Cardinal weren't as good as preseason prognostication thought, including my own. Or perhaps Wazzu, after a slow start this season (with losses to Eastern Washington and Boise State), are getting much better as the season progresses. Or both.
