Trump: "Why Did We Get the Ugly One?"

I happened to have watched Khloe Kardashian's season on Celebrity Apprentice. I was outraged when Trump fired her because he learned she had missed a day of work on the show to attend alcohol classes for a DUI.

Today the Los Angeles Times reports on his real beef with Khloe: She was too heavy and not as attractive as her sisters.

“What is this? We can’t even get the hot one?” he reportedly said, referring to Kardashian’s sister, Kim. “Why don’t we fire Khloe? She is a fat piglet. Why did we get the ugly Kardashian?”

Via Huffpo, a third source and Apprentice editor, states: [More...]

“When they fired [her], it wasn’t on merit,” the editor said. “It was on him not liking her.” The editor said that Trump went to the staff and asked: “What’s the reason we can get her off [the show]?”

A fourth Apprentice staffer told Huffpo:

According to a fourth source who worked on the show, Trump improvised the reason for her “firing,” pinning it on the fact that she had to go to Los Angeles for court-mandated classes related to a prior DUI incident. The business mogul claimed to be caught unaware that Kardashian had to leave ― even though, the source said, it was common for celebrities to have “carve-outs” in their contracts that allowed a short time off from filming.

With the cameras rolling, Trump criticized Kardashian for the DUI, noting his own brother’s struggle with alcoholism as well as the experiences of friends who had lost loved ones in drunk driving accidents.

James Corden, back from a week off, was very funny last night in his opening on Trump's request for drug tests before the debate:

"Drug Tests? This election is definitely now a pissing content."

    1. Why was a Kardashian ever on the show?
    2. Why did this show even exist?

Of the Kardashians (or the Apprentice).  But it's not like they're hurting anyone (the Kardashians).

I don't really understand all of the animosity (not just on this site).

From what I've heard, they're super nice to everyone who works with them, which is one of the reasons they've been able to become famous for being famous.  That type of television isn't really my cup of tea, but everyone has their own form of preferred brainless entertainment.  I'm not going to sit here and pretend that everything I watch helps me grow intellectually.

    Not hurting anyone directly... (5.00 / 1) (#14)

but I wonder if Kardashianism does a disservice to young girls indirectly, with the hard softsell of all their sponsor's products and what not on the app games and tv shows and social media.

Like Trump looks at young women as objects to serve his carnal purposes, the Kardashians seem to look at young women as objects to sell crap to.

As for their entertainment value, not my bag either, but I have my own guilty gutter pleasures too.  Simple question of taste.

The mom weirds me out, I kinda feel sorry for the daughters...I suspect much of their "careers" were her brainchild.  I can't imagine being raised for a life in front of constant cameras and manufactured drama...seems horrible, despite the comforts of wealth it provides.
