Celebrity Apprentice: Geraldo vs. Leeza

When Celebrity Apprentice began this season, I wanted Geraldo and Leeza to be the final two. It just happened. This is the first semi-reality show I've watched where I know both finalists. I like them both so much, I don't know who to root for. What a great match-up. They have very different strengths and personalities, but they are both so talented.

Either one could win, but I think Leeza may have an edge, because the task is making a commercial and she's very creative and organized (as well as smart.) Presentation of the finished commerical will also count, and she's such a smooth public speaker. Geraldo is smart as a whip and also creative. He's got terrific instincts, but he's also more impulsive.

While they need to raise money (which Geraldo is more successful at) Trump went out of his way to say that wouldn't be a deciding factor. I'm actually nervous watching. Good luck to both of them.

    I Am Very Surprised... (5.00 / 2) (#7)

    ...to hear anyone likes Geraldo.

For one he is an online personality for Fox News, secondly he was basically the Hispanic Jerry Springer.  But even before that, he just such a gigantic D bag, even on 20/20 when he got smacked around for asking a wrestler if it was fake, I felt he deserved getting smacked around.

And didn't he do something with Capone's grave that was a flop.  Just looked it was Capone's safe and it was a flop.  He also gave away the location of the company he was 'touring' in Iraq.

    I not only like him (none / 0) (#8)

I consider him a friend. No personal attacks here please, on anyone, including Geraldo. I may not agree with some or many of his political views but he is a good person, generous, smart and talented.

    Geraldo Rivera (none / 0) (#9)

Did outstanding work in 1972 for WABC-TV as an investigative reporter when he

......conducted a series of investigations at Willowbrook uncovering a host of deplorable conditions, including overcrowding, inadequate sanitary facilities, and physical and sexual abuse of residents by members of the school's staff. The exposé, entitled Willowbrook: The Last Great Disgrace,[6] garnered national attention and won a Peabody Award for Rivera.[7] Rivera later appeared on the nationally televised Dick Cavett Show with film of patients at the school. As a result of the overcrowding and inhumane conditions, a class-action lawsuit was filed against the State of New York by the parents of 5.000 residents of Willowbrook in federal court on March 17, 1972. This was known as New York ARC v. Rockefeller.

In 1975, a consent judgement was signed, and it committed New York state to improve community placement for the now designated "Willowbrook Class." The publicity generated by the case was a major contributing factor to the passage of a federal law, the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act of 1980.

    Link.

I remember that documentary quite well, because I was teaching special education at the time (in a public school), and I will always be grateful to Rivera for exposing the horrors that occurred at Willowbrook.  His work helped call attention to the plight of institutionalized mentally disabled children; and not just in New York, because it started a nationwide dialogue and eventually led to extra scrutiny in other states about their state schools.

is not allowed on or near any television set in my house. He is a despicable human being and I can't fathom why NBC keeps giving him air time.

here and there. But he seems to be a decent guy. Good sense of humor. Generally an affable guy. Trump, not so much. He's a hump. Trump the hump.

...on a series I am watching, the 'History of Us'.

I find him annoying, everything that comes out of his mouth is so self-serving.  Williams is also a commenter, and with everything, I don't want to hear what he says either, but he doesn't make my skin crawl.
