World Cup Day 4

Sorry I'm a little late with my picks. I know you were all waiting to put in your bets on the other side of my picks. Yes, I'm 1-5-1 ATS so far.

But I'm about to crank it up! The picks today: Group F - Rio de Janeiro - Argentina -1˝ over Bosnia-Herzegovina Group E - Porto Alegre -Honduras +1˝ over France Group E - Brasília- Ecuador Pick (+130) over Switzerland.

Mock me at your peril. I'm about to get it going.

Also too, Happy Fathers Day!

    Just checked, there is a new one (5.00 / 1) (#11)

With Clive Owen and Juliette Binooche called 'Words and Pictures'  that sounds right up my alley, but it does not start until 5pm.  Dang. Maybe will opt for Maleficent - more convenient show times for that.

    Saw Malecifent- really good! (5.00 / 1) (#17)

Packed theater, kids seemed to enjoy it.

I hope the  eventual dragon battles in Game of Thrones are half as well done as the dragon in the castle in this movie. Very cool.

Of Dexter last night.  Funny, I didn't hate it as much this time.  Can't say I liked it.  I did see the fact that they left open the option of bringing the character back.

Are you guys treating these threads as open.   Reading the comments it sort of seems so.  I have been staying out.

Sorry I thought it said open. I will go back to (none / 0) (#19)

    A TL friend sent me an article (5.00 / 1) (#12)
by Militarytracy on Sun Jun 15, 2014 at 01:12:33 PM EST
About how much England liked playing in Manaus and how much the mayor enjoyed hosting them :). In the article though was a reference to Stephen Hawking coming up with a formula to predict England's success and I wanted to know more.

This came up, along with a link to something called FIFA, foe, fun to use to make World Cup predictions with.

    Hope the NASCAR picks... (5.00 / 1) (#24)

    are hitting!

Know the feeling...went 0 fer 9 at Belmont yesterday.  If I had a pony to win, it came in second.  If I had an exacta, they came in first and third.  If I had a trifecta, they came in first, second, and fourth.

Sometimes it bes that way.  Just do the nation a favor and pick Ghana today will ya! ;)

I want to pick the US badly (none / 0) (#25)

but I truly believe we should win this one...Beckerman and his natty whiteboy dreads will be key in helping the back line protect our goal, and Bradley will work his attacking midfield magic to find Altidore and Dempsey opportunities to strike.

    Prediction...USA 3, Ghana 1.

I don't put money up because.....then I would have no money

With my Monopoly money though I'm going with Argentina, France, and the army knife guys.

And all 3 picks are correct! (none / 0) (#20)

ABC is showing today's matches on over-the-air TV. Did the same yesterday. Sadly, ABC is unwilling to pre-empt all of its broadcasting every day of the World Cup. How could anyone think The View is more important TV than the World Cup?

I was just glad they preemptd 'this week' (none / 0) (#10)

seeing as how Switzerland won 2-1 and it should have been 3-1?

That for me was the hardest match (none / 0) (#14)

To attempt to choose so far.

I almost left it blank and just declare myself too much of a coward to choose.

by Donald from Hawaii on Sun Jun 15, 2014 at 07:49:08 PM EST
Well, given your calls thus far for Spain, England, Cameroon and Uruguay, I'd offer that whatever it is that's about to get going has probably already gotten up and left, shaking its head in bewilderment as it walked out the door.

C'mon now, just admit it -- you're receiving inside information from McLaughlin & Associates, aren't you?

    Happy Father's Day, BTD.
