Tamerlan Tsarnaev's Cause of Death

The Boston Globe reports it has seen the death certificate for Tamerlan Tsarnaev and that it states he died from gunshot wounds and blunt trauma.

The document, viewed by the Globe on Friday, shows that Tsarnaev was pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m. April 19.

The death certificate also states that Tsarnaev was shot by police, and run over and dragged by a vehicle.

Police insist Dzhokhar Tsarnaev ran him over when fleeing the scene in the carjacked Mercedes. Considering the massive, non-stop video footage of the shootout by news organizations and neighbors, you would think there would be one photo or screen grab showing a vehicle running over Tamerlan and dragging him. I sure haven't seen one. That doesn't stop the media from reporting as fact that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev ran over his brother. [More...]

Here's an early police version in which police say they rolled a vehicle at the brothers, and when Tamerlan ran out of bullets, they jumped him and were putting handcuffs on him when they say Dzhokhar jumped into the Mercedes and came towards them. The police say they jumped out of the way (leaving Tamerlan there) and he got run over by the Mercedes. Here's an early Boston Globe version, as told by one of the officers.

I doubt the medical examiner knows what kind of tires (if any) ran over Tamerlan. Not to mention, the head of the Emergency Department at the hospital Tamerlan was taken to said he didn't see any tire marks on him or evidence he was run over:

When asked about reports that Tsarnaev was run over by a vehicle driven by his fleeing brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, [Dr. Richard] Wolfe said he did not see any obvious injuries that would back up that theory.

“I certainly did not see any tire marks or the usual things we see with someone run over by a car,” he said.

Accurately reconstructing the scene from those photos is obviously a job for an unbiased pro.

The picture showing the SUV driving towards the police cars is consistent with it about to hit the body.  The observer said it side-swiped both police cars.  One is about ten feet to the right of the body and the other about 20 feet directly behind the body.  Hard to see how the SUV could have passed between the two cars without running over the body first.

Witnesses who lived on the street said Dzhokhar ran over his brother.  I too had difficulty believing that because Dr Richard Wolfe at the hospital said he saw no signs on Tamerlan consistent with being run over.

There's one female witness who said the police ran over Tamerlan and shot at him while he was down.  I'm almost certain that I saw a video of the shoot-out and not just the photos, but I have tried to find it online and cannot.

I wonder if defense counsel will dispute any of the taped or photographic evidence.

It is evident from shoot-out photos that Dzhokhar did not have a gun.

I think this doctor Wolfe is a bit of a wack job. When you are run over by an SUV, what exactly happens, you tread marks like a Bugs Bunny cartoon?  Maybe he should leave the cause of death stuff to Ducky on NCIS.

But lack of any weapons and the photo evidence points to the police shooting him after he got out of the boat through the mouth:

of a shot out the night before that we all have seen footage of.  Perhaps he got shot then.

Actually there is zero credible evidence that the police shot him after he got out of the boat.

The brothers used violence several times.  They bombed.  They killed a cop.  They carjacked. with a gun.    They shot at police. Threw explosives. Their actions indicate they would have killed as many police as possible to escape.  In addition, it seems if they had not been identified they would have resorted to more bombings.  I would expect the police to do their job and respond with force.

Dzhokhar is lucky to be alive after all he took part in.  I don't believe in the death penalty - but I do believe that the police had every right to use force under the circumstances.

20 hours with no blood on the inside of the boat?

"They killed a cop.  They carjacked. with a gun. "

We know about through 'Danny' (who also said they confessed to him) and the MSM narrative, and those have not been corroborated.

I would have expected the police to do the utmost to apprehend the suspect alive and without having inflicted near fatal wounds, at least in order to conclude any additional threats existed.

in the boat?  The owner said there was no blood on the outside of the boat.  If his injuries were near fatal I am sure it was his own fault.  The police had every reason in the world to want to keep him alive and well.  Please stop trying to turn him in to a victim.

a perpetrator AND a victim so stop being so hateful. I hate, hate having to come to the defense of someone I don't want to defend. But when his accusers are shooting off hateful and ignorant statements such as:
If his injuries were near fatal I am sure it was his own fault.
this is where I end up. As for this:
The police had every reason in the world to want to keep him alive and well.
You do realize that "the police" is not the same thing as every police officer on the scene, right? If you can't see the difference then I don't think anyone can help you.

Somewhere I saw it said that the SUV hit the older brother and dragged him a ways, in which case it wouldn't necessarily have left tire marks on him.
