Michelle Bachman 's Exit

Michelle Bachman is not running for reelection. I can't think of any reason to care. I've never devoted even a single brain cell to thinking about her. Sounds like it's time for her to retreat into the obscurity from which she came. Unless she gets indicted, she's now less than a footnote in the history of national affairs.

If anyone wants to discuss her, here's a thread to do so.

retreat into obscurity. It seems all the Looney Tunes become media experts after they leave office and we never see the last of them. Also quoting David Atkins:

Normally one would be inclined to blow Bachmann off as a joke, a fortunate passing virus of outrageousness that has fortunately run its course.

But that isn't the case. The Republican Party has been overtaken by an army of Bachmann clones just as crazy as she is.

    ...with her Presidential Campaign Fund.

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint was filed Tuesday by Peter Waldron, a widely known evangelist enlisted by the Bachmann campaign for outreach to Christian conservatives. The filing follows his allegations last week that the Bachmann campaign has withheld payments to staffers who refused to sign confidentiality agreements.

Waldron, formerly Bachmann's national field coordinator, is accusing the campaign of improperly dipping into money from MichelePAC to pay longtime fundraising consultant Guy Short for presidential campaign work he performed in the critical final weeks ahead of Iowa's caucuses last year.

seems a fitting comment on Michelle that Jeralyn misspelled her last name in announcing the exit. :)

I can't think of anyone who will miss her except the late night comedians - and the Huffington Post which loves to report her every verbal excrescence on their front page.
