    happened to tune in to these hearings at an interesting moment.

    Someone, I was too late to get his name, was addressing Holder in no uncertain terms about how antiquated the laws are with respect to marijuana. He pointed out that a majority of the American people want it to be legalized - but that instead people are still being jailed for selling it and in some cases for smoking it.

    He made the apt comparison between the futility and stupidity of the 1920s prohibition against alcohol and todays prohibition regarding marijuana.

    And he further made the point that by keeping it illegal, the government is strengthening Mexican cartels.

    Holder did not respond.

    But he must have heard what the man said, even if he didn't hear what the man said.

    I never thought that I would witness such a direct confrontation on this issue with an acting Attorney General of the US of A.

    May it be the first of many.
