Jailed Pussy Riot Women To Be Freed

Under a Amnesty bill passed in Russia this week, the two Pussy Riot members still jailed in Russian prisons, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina will be freed.

In September, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova went on a hunger strike, and released this letter describing the inhumane conditions of her confinement. She was later moved to a prison in Siberia.

Also likely to be freed: 30 Greenpeace protesters.

The President today announced his first significant number of commutations and pardons.  Eight particularly unfair crack and marijuana sentences commuted.  Thirteen others (six of them drug cases) fully pardoned.  A start, at least.

I don't care who or what sort of Rasputin was whispering in Putin's ear, even if it was his own Id. I just find it interesting that Putin is the last two syllables of Rasputin.

    better late than never Pooty.

32 less political prisoners to free...untold more still to go.

Whenever you're ready to up the ante in your new cold war d*ck-swinging match Pres. Obama, I'm all for it.  I suggest freeing Chelsea Manning, the lost souls in Gitmo, and some amnesty for Edward Snowden...don't let Pooty show you up like this!
