Wednesday Night Open Thread

The iPhone 5 debuts.

The X-Factor premieres, pitted against The Voice and Big Brother. Does anyone want to see Brittany Spears as a mean judge or Demi Lovato? I'm not expecting much from either of them. Simon and LA Reid will be more interesting. But three nights of The Voice in one week is a little much.

In more important matters, the Marines are headed to Libya, the US is launching a terrorist hunt there, and Mitt Romney has interminable foot in mouth disease -- and no comprehension of foreign policy.

This is an open thread, all topics welcome.

    New Fox Poll (5.00 / 0) (#2)
by CoralGables on Wed Sep 12, 2012 at 08:33:47 PM EST
has Obama at +5 (48-43). That's a 6 point gain for Obama since the last Fox poll.

I believe the talking heads heads at Fox are closing in on their Monty Python wafer thin mint moment.

for weeks now, so I was so happy to read two days ago that the dig had gotten a week's extension.

And now this, which well may help future digs gain extensions before the past is bulldozed.  We can hope.

A lot of two week old information has the parents making that claim.  A quick search turned up nothing since then to either confirm or deny it.  Even after the parents appearance on the morning "news magazines".

Is this the first you're hearing about it?

Gnarly Mammoth Tooth as fact ;)

Funny thing is, I walked right by there the day of the find. Who knew?! I was thinking about all the construction sounds around me, which I don't hear where I live, unlike my last place in Brooklyn, and in general working in NYC or SF.
