R.I.P. Donna Summer

Disco Queen Donna Summer has died of lung cancer at age 63. She was diagnosed just 10 months ago.

MTV details her legacy. R.I.P., and our condolences to her husband and children.

    getting old when the singers you listed to in your 20's die like Donna Summer and Whitney Houston. RIP Donna. I sure loved dancing to your music back in the wild and whacky 70's.

    scary- she was born the same year I was.  But I was a settled married woman by the time she burst onto the scene.  I was way more into the 60's artists.

    few years I have started losing high school classmates pretty regularly. I guess that comes with age.

    It's probably that way for a lot of people. I told a friend of mine that I don't know really any current music as I pretty much quit listening when I was 30.  Then you have kids and learn some of what they listen to but you don't like it.

    You can indulge both things: your fondness for the music of your youth and taste what's new.  It's a lot easier to listen through stuff you don't particularly like if there are no commercials.  And there's some good stuff out there now.

    Just not enough to fill a day.

    Sad news.  For all her Disco era fame, imo, she was an underrated talent.
