The Daily Rush: Radio Station Drops Rush

Update: KPUA radio station in Hawaii has dropped Rush Limbaugh's radio show. One down, 599 to go.

We are strong believers in the first amendment and have recognized Mr. Limbaugh's right to express opinions that often times differ from our own, but it has never been our goal to allow our station to be used for personal attacks and intolerance. The most recent incident has crossed a line of decency and a standard that we expect of programming on KPUA whether it is locally produced or a syndicated program like the Rush Limbaugh show.
Make that 598, WBEC in Pittsfield, MA has dropped him. On the advertiser side, add Allstate and Sensa Weight Loss Systems and Tax Resolutions Systems. [More...]

Don Imus blasts Limbaugh as insincere and gutless. Video at HuffPo here.

Rush Limbaugh is still in the news. Clear Channel and Premiere Networks express their continuing support for him. The Armed Forces Radio Network says it won't drop him.

AOL, on the other hand, has suspended ads on his show.

As for Rush, he says his apology was sincere. And he doesn't care about advertisers leaving, he says he has plenty more where they came from.

In other words, a sucker is incorporated every minute.  Your wasting your money advertisers!

Then again, upon further thought, I'm probably projecting my general anti-consumerism onto the dittohead audience...if there ever was an audience susceptible to advertising, it is that crowd;)

And poor Ann Coulter can't get a headline no matter how loud she screams.

"He did so much for the conservative movement. Who knows what else he could have done. It's like John Lennon dying. What other music might he have produced?"

This is the second time that there has been a big social push for Rush Limbaugh to removed from Armed Forces Radio and I think this time he is done.  And Cenk is demanding that he actually prove he has the listener number that he claims.  I don't see Rush coming out of this well.  Not this time.  Particularly if he loses his AFR slot, because female soldiers want him gone and they truly have a beef that needs to be addressed.  I think he is done.

I could help get rid of rush.  Now I know, my local talk radio station runs him in the afternoon.  I can e-mail call and get everyone else to do the same.  Maybe we can be the 2nd station in the nation after HI.

was everything the wingers claim...in reality NYC leads the nation in marijuana arrests every damn year, a police dept. with a spook division to rival most nations, we are the bankster grifting capital of the world.  Sh*t the only thing keepin' us from being a god damn wingers paradise is our diversity, our (new found) respect for gay rights, and our very high taxes.

My stomach just roiled at reading that.

I cannot stomach this country much longer.  I really can't.  This is bringing back . . . well, I won't go there.

But I won't stay here if this country does not improve.  It is not safe for women and other living things.

what a pathetic slob this guy is?

I listened to his fat waste of space once while riding to a job site  with a coworker in 1994 who insiste dhe must listent to this dbag.  After 5 minutes I told my colleague if wanted to listent to anymore I could drop him off and he could rent his own car.

The lunacy this man has launched over the years  is mind boggling.

These people use their practically-unlimited financial resources to troll the country for and to groom future Rushes the way footabll scouts beat the bushes looking for the next Andrew Luck..

25 million viewers (or whatever it is), he will stay on the air and find advertisers.  These types of stunts do not cost him his audience; in fact, it makes them more stubbornly loyal.  This is a fart in the windstorm compared to some of his other shenanigans.

Did you see that Cenk (none / 0) (#5)
by Militarytracy on Mon Mar 05, 2012 at 02:16:45 PM EST
has challenged Rush to prove he has 25 million viewers?  And he's offering him $10,000 to prove it.

And I don't think that Rush should be able to count every soldier and sailor in uniform in this head count either.  Those guys and gals are a captive audience.

And Rush's further apologies have seemingly enraged the standard RedState commenter from what I read.
