    The Miami Heat is sooo cool.  I might have to start watching basketball.  Its players at this time seem to have a bit of an edge on promoting cultural health and equality over some football players.

    new solution for people who can't pay their mortgage.  Bank of America never does anything that doesn't give them an edge on at least three angles.  The new accounting rules are something not talked about enough.  I've always wondered when the banks were going to have to begin to show some of their non-preforming loans in their profit loss statements, and I don't know what the new rules were allowing for.  So if a mortgage is non-preforming does this new rent to the homeowner scheme buy them more time without having to show loss?  When the time comes to have to show the loss on the books does this new proposition now allow them to show the property as a rental property and as an asset that they have?

    Also, how will this new proposition affect the people who can't pay and are now squatting in their homes?  Will it change anything legally, making it easier for Bank of America to throw the people out in the streets before having to actually foreclose on the property?  I don't see how that is likely but I put nothing past these guys.

    They can only be doing this to buy time though for something.  They have no real plan to be landlords.  And they claim they will sell the rental properties to investors.  Fixing properties is not in their make the quick easy money fast game plan, and my grandfather taught me that an absent landlord only leads to your property being completely trashed.  It is a joke of an idea.  My only question is what edge does this buy them?  They don't work for their money anymore and have no future plan to.  Everyone claims they are on the ropes and going down though, so maybe getting to claim all this rental property asset on their books will prop things up enough that they can qualify for some more free Fed money being funneled into them.

    are grifters and conmen just looking for the next score. Still, this move might, might I say, help some homeowners. For the homeowner who cannot pay the mortgage but can pay the market-rate rent, if they qualify this provides them the chance to give back the house without declaring bankruptcy and totally trashing their credit rating and lets them stay in the house for up to three years.

    As always, the devil is in the details. Yves Smith over at Naked Capitalism has a more in-depth analysis of this plan.

    One thing I am sure of is that BoA is not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. They are working some angle.

    Josh wore me out today.  He isn't chained to the bed now.  He has a traction wheelchair and he IS bored.  If his MRI tomorrow looks as good as the CT did, after he is stable from his surgery on Wednesday he goes home for a few months in a traction vest.  He's alteady informed both of his parents he's going back to school ASAP even wearing that.  He loves us but it's wearing a little thin I guess.

    If I were at home without all this other stuff happening  I would have probably remembered to go read her first.

    Well and moving so quickly that the ribs on the other side have already realigned and the surgeon can put a veptor rod in on that side that will encourage his ribcage to spring outward.  They put one in the right side first and it has aleady made a big difference on that side.  He doesn't have much naturally occuring fusions either and that has allowed the traction to progress rapidly too.  He has a horrible kyphosis and had a very pronounced hump but wow is it responding to the traction.  On a scale of 1 to 10 of desirable outcome I'd say we are at about 9 on this so far.

    were outcoached today as Louisville pressured our speedy guards the entire game, and by game's end they had no gas to hit a shot. I think Florida only managed 3 points in the last 8 minutes. They gave their all for 32 minutes and ran on fumes for the last 8.

    Lod knows, we've all had considerable differences with Dick Cheney, but on this day, I wish his family well and hope that he has a prompt recovery.
