How goes it kids? Snake Blisken here, I´ve escaped from mother-f&ckin´ New York to much friendlier confines! No gas lines, no uber-workstress...just love sweet love and adventure for the next week.

I am sad about Oregon State's loss to Stanford. Sean Mannion's knee injury has really thrown the Beavers off their game. :-(
Now, the Ducks need to win out over both the Beavers and the Cardinal. Finally, to win the Pac-12 championship they need to defeat whoever wins the UCLA-USC game next week. My guys are kind of beat-up physically. Still, I think they can do it.
My current thinking has the national championship game being Oregon vs. Kansas State.

My oh my, but the Gators certainly seem to have their hands unexpectedly full this afternoon. The Ragin' Cajuns actually seem to believe they were invited to Gainesville to play a football game, and not merely be a serving of cupcakes. The longer Florida allows ULL to hang, the more the visitors might be tempted to think that they can steal this thing.

In Huffington Post and letter to NYTimes:

"My wife is having an affair with a government executive. His role is to manage a project whose progress is seen worldwide as a demonstration of American leadership. (This might seem hyperbolic, but it is not an exaggeration.) I have met with him on several occasions, and he has been gracious. (I doubt if he is aware of my knowledge.) I strongly feel that exposing the affair will create a major distraction that would adversely impact the success of an important effort. There are thousands of government executives in D.C. and throughout the country. And honestly, so what if it was actually Scott Broadwell who wrote this letter last July? I liked columnist Chuck Klosterman's answer better:

"The fact that you're willing to accept your wife's infidelity for some greater political good is beyond honorable. In fact, it's so over-the-top honorable that I'm not sure I believe your motives are real. Part of me wonders why you're even posing this question, particularly in a column that is printed in The New York Times. [...] I halfway suspect you're writing this letter because you want specific people to read this column and deduce who is involved and what's really going on behind closed doors (without actually addressing the conflict in person). That's not ethical, either." (Emphasis is mine.)
Let's put it this way. If all this is true, and Scott Broadwell really was the anonymous author, then I'm not at all surprised that Paula would be stepping out on this silly little man who's clearly channeling his inner drama queen. You go, girl!

I had a conference call yesterday with new nonprofit clients in Charlotte, NC. It was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but they begged off then, because they were still upset about the election results.

I was very gracious, listened to them lament what happened, and said nothing deroguatory even though both men know full well where I stand politically. After they were done, I simply said that I was certain that the country will continue to endure like always, and that regardless of who won on Tuesday, we still had a lot of work to do if we're to bulid their organization's service capacity.

But honestly, these giys are not stupid people, and I can't believe that someone that smart, business-wise, truly thought that Romney and the Republicans were going to romp. Hopefully, it sobered them up, like getting splashed harshly with a bucket of iced water with the ice cubes still in it. I sill have to work with them, regardless.

they seemed to accept that Obama win in 2008 but can't accept this one. I think they thought that 2008 was just a freak thing and that they would take back the WH especially after 2010. A lot of their problem is that they only get their news from places like talk radio which has been lying to them. Unfortunately they believed all that so it has been pretty bad for them. The good thing is though after losing 4 presidential elections in the last 20 years they are finally realizing that they are not entitled to the Presidency.
