    rules DOMA unconstitutional.

Intervenor Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group of the United States House of Representatives appeals from an order of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York granting summary judgment in favor of the surviving spouse of a same-sex couple who was denied the benefit of the spousal deduction under federal tax law. The United States, the defendant, is a nominal appellant. For the following reasons, we conclude that Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act violates equal protection and is therefore unconstitutional.

for the National ACLU LGBT legal project team. Because it is a flat-out declaration that the federal law is unconstitutional on equal protection grounds -- even under the standard most favorable to the government, mere "rational basis" -- and was decided by a 2-1 vote, this case becomes a strong candidate for Supreme Court review.

burning up chances for a D victory there?
This is particularly true considering the intersection of the pot initiative and the Johnson campaign. Despite the punditocracy's narratives to the contrary, the former New Mexico governor has already been taking as much -- or more - support away from Obama in Colorado as he has been from Romney, according to polls. And Johnson's anti-Obama effect could be come much more pronounced in the next few weeks, thanks to how his supporters are deftly leveraging all hoopla around the marijuana initiative to sharpen their candidate's appeal and message to disaffected Democrats.

Is available in Colorado Springs now.  Someone from my old neighborhood describes posh stores all over to make your purchases from.  Everyone is getting a script for it.  I guess that now that so many can imbibe without fear Colorado is sick of ALL the weed fear and those who use have come out of the bushes and the woodwork and all over and putting their foot firmly down.

all Obama has do is drop a dose of sanity and change his tyrannical drug war policy positions...sh*t he might get my vote and many more all over the country while he's at it.

Losing votes to a candidate with superior policy ideas...isn't that how this thing is supposed to work? Votes shouldn't be expected, they should be earned.  Gary Johnson ain't snatching no victory from Obama in CO, Obama is embracing a possible defeat ignoring the will of the people of CO.

Sirota is an idiot and a concern troll.  Johnson has fallen from 5% polling in September to two percent in the cited poll for the Denver Post.  That doesn't equate to a measurable effect of the Johnson campaign on this election.

deftly leveraging all hoopla around the marijuana initiative to sharpen their candidate's appeal and message to disaffected Democrats.

I can tell you from first hand experience that this ain't happenin'.

We have fourteen parties on the Presidential ballot here and Johnson will have no more effect than the other twelve also rans.

First, former President Clinton spoke in that wondrously effective & persuasive way that he owns...that way that everything he explains makes sense.

Now,  Bruce Springsteen sings in the transporting, evocative way that underscores so much.
